An android alchemist who dispenses chemicals from an internal reservoir.

I still say some sort of overclocking mechanic(either as an alternate racial trait or feat) that enabled something similar-but-different from rage would be neat. As long as it carried some highly likely risks or guaranteed badness due to overclocking your android's mind, body, and/or soul. :)

I think this would make a great racial barbarian archetype for androids. Probably a byproduct of their nanite infusion somehow- either misfiring nanites ("uncontrollable fury!!!") or a deliberate overload of nanite activity. Functionally similar to the current rage, but a non-emotional genesis. The bonus wouldn't be a morale bonus, though I'm not sure what other type would work, due to stacking (maybe a case could be made for alchemical, if it is tied to their nanite surge?)

Not sure what their downside could be in place of fatigue, though. Something similar, surely. Maybe they shut down for repairs (ouch!) :p

I suppose it could make them become staggered or even disabled for a time.

There should probably be several new, android-only rage powers as well, along with a suggested list of rage powers for the archetype (as many of them don't seem particularly android-like).

The Android Monk (Martial Artist) who gives up the inner focus stuff for critical study and pressure point attacks.

How about an android summoner whose eidolon is really a swarm of nanites?

An android inquisitor who hunts down rogue technologies.

An android ranger that hunts constructs for "parts" would be intriguing.

An Android Oracle with science as his/her mystery.

Giving new meaning to the phrase "She blinded me with SCIENCE!"

That was my idea for crimson throne when I was grazing AP descriptions. The cigars and womanizing were a mask to make the guntotting investigator more relatable, all a studied behavior.

In my home game there is an npc magus focused on being a guardian for her race.

Other ideas is a wizard researching his race, eventually planning of upgrade etc.

For some reason, I just keep thinking about Mystery Science Theatre 3000.

Those were robots. I think the Androids are closer to Data. Except ...no more like the droids from aliens with some nanite repair and growth systems in them. It's why they heal, they are 'close enough' to living. Synthetic life, but living.

It's too bad there's no summon monster spell that summons sheep.

Ah well, my android will just have to dream of electric sheep.

Oooh. Into the Phillip K Dick memorial penality box with you.

I realize it would be completely unfeasible, but it would be cool to play an Android Summoner.

I was thinking a android bladebound magus would be cool.

Android bard. When she sings, dubstep comes out.

Android Sorcerer with the Sage Wildbloodline. Focus on Force and electrical spells along with spells that can control or affect constructs.

This should totally have the 3.5 Kung Fu Genius feat.

why power suits? it seems silly and unnecessary in a mostly fantasy setting in my opinion, since when did Paizo buy up Robotech or battle tech? this isn't iron man and should never be!

sorry had to get that off my chest.

Because I want to box a dragon to death and I need a 30 foot tall tin-can with myomer-Pseudomuscles to do it.

Seriously, though - Escaflowne. Watch Escaflowne. That pretty much lays out how to fantasy mecha can be awesome.

An android bard who uses ultrasound and infrasound to produce mind altering effects?

I would LOVE for Androids to have implant magic items. Like adding upgrades to themselves.

It should be easy enough to use the grafts rules from the APs for this. I forget where they were originally located (for all I know, they might be in the 3.5 Second Darkness AP, though I swore I'd seen some more recently; I'll have to check when I get home).

you dont need a 30 foot piloted robot to box a dragon. just a fifteenth level android martial artist monk. the piloted robot would just be A) holding you back and B) providing the dragon a nice little oven to cook you in:) besides the smaller you are the harder it is for the dragon to hit you. i might check out the show you mentioned but i'm not a fan of anime, so no promises (unless its kid friendly) i dont watch much movies or tv so when i do i prefer comedy (i just recently started watching reno 911 so im a bit behind, i love internet streaming now i can watch all the shows i missed over the years not having cable, i've never in 37 years ever had cable)

Escaflowne is PG 13 at most. I don't know if it's a good cold start for anime, though. It's one part giant robot knights beating the crap out of each other, one part insane magitek, and at least one part high-school romance drama. So, you know, typically totally incoherent yet strangely compelling anime. It helps that the robot knights are very cool and the supporting cast is interesting. Plus - Dilandau. If you want to play Chaotic Evil as broken, sadistic, and crazy then Dilandau should be required viewing. *shudder*

I feel the same way about monks and Wuxia as you do about the power suits. I've never felt that kung-fu monks really fit the idiom. But whatevs. Some people like to punch things with their spiritual oneness and I can live with that.

It'd be fun to take a class that can cast "Awaken Construct". Play it as a revolutionary trying to free its people, with its "People" being other constructs and AIs. It discovers that while the hardware inhibitors preventing the AIs from gaining true free will can't be circumvented without killing the AI there is a magic spell that doesn't care a whit about hardware locks. So this android has a mission in life to learn to use the Awaken Construct spell and come back and free all it's software buddies to enjoy the benefits of true sentience.

It has a nice magic vs. technology flare - Machine intelligences using magic to exceed their original programming. Heck you could make it an android prestige class. "Awakener". The class has a set of feats and special abilities specifically geared towards helping constructs break their programming and become free.

I believe Sword of Valor includes at least a small part of an article pertaining to demonic grafts, perhaps that is what you were thinking of.

That's it. I knew I'd read it somewhere recently.

Also Seeker of Secrets (the first pathfinder society book) has an excellent section on embedding Ioun Stones into your flesh, and maybe book of the damned 2: lords of chaos has a section on demonic implants and and adding demon paerts to your physiology. also going back further parts of the Eberron campaign setting had something on implanting items and other things (i'm not 100% sure on if thats entirely true, i got rid of those books awhile ago, or even what book it was in)

I could also see re-fluffing the Magical Tattoos from Inkantations as implants for your android.

Maybe rename the tattoo, keeping the effect and the magic item slot it uses in the body.

If somone wants to pm me tomorrow ill post up the 5 android feats i created. Yes one of them helps with morale bonus'.

Emotion spell effects an Android can't have

Core Rulebook: antipathy, bane, calm animals, calm emotions, cause fear, crushing despair, doom, eyebite, fear, good hope, phantasmal killer, rage, symbol of fear, sympathy, weird

Advanced Player's Guide: aura of greater courage, blessing of courage and life, castigate, euphoric tranquility, forced repentance, hunter's howl, mass castigate, moonstruck, phantasmal revenge, rally point, scare, shared wrath, weapon of awe, wrath

Advanced Race Guide: agonizing rebuke, battle trance

Inner Sea World Guide: unbreakable heart

Orcs of Golarion: blood rage

Ultimate Magic: aura of doom, compassionate ally, curse of disgust, delay pain, delusional pride, envious urge, joyful rapture, malicious spite, miserable pity, oppressive boredom, overwhelming grief, overwhelming presence, reckless infatuation, serenity, smug narcissism, terrible remorse, unadulterated loathing, unnatural lust, unprepared combatant, utter contempt, vengeful outrage, waves of ecstasy

Maybe a feat tree which could reverse these?

I was thinking of an Android Synthesist Summoner whose Eidolonform mimics inevitables and is such a form of "power armor". All of her evolutions will be in the form of mechanical enhancements, like oh a racial +8 to disable device? her finger include several flip out tools that aid in the check.

Liberty's Edge

Wanting to play an android in this game will be painful, given that I will want to start playing the second the first mod releases and the article on androids won't be available until that first mod is...

Since I don't have the sourcebooks, yet, are there robotic androids or just human-analogous androids?

edit: Just saw the above post, are there sourcebooks for this race yet?

Dont get me wrong i'm a giant fan of the iron man movies and when i was a kid i woke up at 5:30am on saturdays to watch robotech i just havent seen a RPG successfully meld the them in with fantasy elements and still seem plausible or fun

an example is the robotech or rifts rpg when you're in your veritech you can totally mess things up, as soon as its shot down however you might as well start writing your obituary. and i'd hate to see that in pathfinder also it seems too techy for my tastes and what numeria is like

Not a rifts fan?

I wasn't a fan of androids at first but now that I've read more I think it offers a lot of cool role playing opportunities. I think a silent Gunslinger or Bard fascinated with art would be fun.
