Pathfinder Adventure Card Game General Discussion

First off Just want to say I love the game.

I was thinking of a way to increase some choice in the adventures by having a card that is a location card within the locations you are investigating.

For instance in your pile for town square you could have another card that opens another location to adventure in. The location could have some interesting item or what not to make it interesting. However, you don't get added time to your blessing total timer. This makes it interesting to investigate but not without sacrifices.

This also could be used instead of a villain the players have a choice card that they have to vote on to see which route they take in the adventure, this could also lead to different rewards.

Feel free to expand on the idea, it is just a quick thought.

You could add the General Store with 5 Boon cards to the Town Squarren abd he players have to decide wether they want to go shopping, if they ther's enough time left in the Blessings deck.

I like the idea of the splitting off adventure where you pick which place to go, giving you a lot more replay ability, I really hope they have taken some liberties in making this game to do cool stuff like that as the adventure decks go on, though I think everyone's enthusiasm has caused a lot of "they should do this" before just letting the game breath a little, which is a blessing... and a curse, haha

I agree about letting it breathe, just was thinking out loud.

I guess I was thinking of mini side quests within the actual game.

oh no it's good to speculate and come up with homebrew stuff, it's just real funny this being my first "adventure" type board game and seeing a tone of posts here and BGG about what they should add or do, it shows great enthusiasm for the game already.

I also fear that those people don't burn out on the game because the stuff they are thinking about doesn't happen right away and they end up poopooing the game or something.

The other mechanic I think would work well is if the starting locations were set out such that some of them were unreachable until others had been explored. E.g. if you have 4 locations in a game you could get a pattern like this:

Start of game only location #1 is available. Everybody has to start there. 'Area effect' banes are going to be fun, and Merisiel loses her sneakiness.

After #1 is cleared two new locations open up. Still keeps the group quite tight, but you've got to find a way through to the enemy's stronghold.

After either #2 or #3 is cleared you can go to location #4.

If you find the villain in location #1 he retreats deeper into his domain. Or maybe he's a cowardly rear-line general hiding in his citadel from the start?

I think you will appreciate Chapter 5.
