Frederik Pohl

He lived long.

Still, he would have so many more stories to tell...

One of the greats from the Golden Age of Sci-fi. He will be missed.

The Exchange

I wish there were a dozen clones just like him. He stayed so engaged with the world and his writing even in his '90s, in a way I wish more authors could be.

*sigh* I had been a few weeks late with reading his blog and learned about Fred Pohl's death from Louis Agresta's facebook post. No more stories from the early fantasy & sf fandom.

The Exchange

The death of a sci-fi giant is always sad, but not nearly as sad as the number of crappy writers allowed to outlive them. Twain once said, "The problem ain't that there is too many fools; the problem is that the lightning ain't distributed right."
