Wow. Has it been two weeks already? Man that was fast. Where does the time go? Welcome back, bud. Hope it was tons of fun. I've never been but a buddy of mine tries to go with his family about every other year and he loves it to no end.

Guys, I'm gonna decide about level up tomorrow - seriously thinking of going Inquisitor from here onward (since we are getting two levels, it might be a good time to do it). Gotta mull it over.

@Nasira: Yeah, I was thinking I was behind too :D


Nope my bad in moving us onward to the fort. You guys hit a lot of milestones in both the exploration, city building, and campaign trait bonuses in quick order. Congrats on making it so far. Definitely one of the longest and highest level campaigns I have seen or been a part of on here!

@Zeriax: Do you have the wand of stone skin we found sometime back? With the possible exception of Snow., I think you may be the only one left that could use it without UMD.

On another note, and I know this is a years long debate but... What do you guys think of me going Inquisitor from here on? Variel, can you give us a broad idea on how high level the campaign goes? 20?

I'm staying with cleric and I think I have those decisions made, but I'm undecided on pretty much anything for the new mythic tier - ability to bump, path to choose, spell to select...

As for Zeriax going Inquisitor, I don't remember discussing it previously, so this answer might not match my previous responses, but I would say do whatever keeps you interested in the character.

This campaign (as written) goes all the way to 20/10 - so as close to godhood as you get. Going Inquisitor from here you could get 11 levels in by the time you're done.

yes 20th level and tier 10. As for what the inquisitor brings I haven't looked into it much to give you a fair assessment at this time. Nasira is wise though in doing something that keeps you happy and engaged.

I don't know a great deal about them but I do know they roll with wisdom and that would fit you quite perfect in that regard. And all those judgements they get are pretty dern cool.

Heck Monster Lore, Solo Tactics, Bane... man all those are pretty cool too.

I swear these dudes can do practically everything.

I've never played one though. Mainly due to the simple fact there's so much they can do and it just wears me out thinking about how to keep up with it all. :P

But if you think it'll be fun and cool then I say roll with it, bud. :)

@Nasira: Wisdom. Gotta be Wisdom. I just noticed you don't have a Wisdom headband. What?! That's crazy. You do have a Charisma one though. Definitely gotta get that upgraded and added.

I might suggest taking the archetype which swaps Judgements for Studied Target (Divine Slayer?) - it would limit the complexity somewhat :)

They are very strong, only thing that lets them down is not having full BAB.

Thanks for the suggestions Snow. I was planning on actually taking Ravener Hunter + Sanctified Slayer [the archetype that trades out judgment ;)].

There are a couple of things that do not really fall in place:

- Not having full BAB (I could continue Ranger instead]
- I should have dropped off from Monk at level 6 and not at level 7, because this way I will probably never have Greater Bane...
- It is not straightforward picking a deity for Zeriax... He would easily gravitate Iomedae, according to how I have been playing him, etc. Not sure if it is appropriate though.

But still I think I will go for it.

Variel in case I decide to go ahead, would you allow me to retrain a Monk level into Inquisitor [we would need 7 days of downtime for that and a trainer, but I guess it shouldn't be very hard to find one in the Crusade :D], paying all the appropriate costs, etc?

Regarding a mythic spell, I have two good mythic healing spells already, and holy smite for some offense. With both of our fireball-throwing mages on the sidelines, I'm considering it might be appropriate for the cleric of the Dawnflower to have a mythic fireball in her arsenal. I can eventually augment it to bypass fire resistance and immunity, but until then, it's still potentially useful.

Thoughts? Alternate suggestions?

We are packing to hit the road. If I don't figure out Nasira's last mythic details, I will update her character sheet for 11th level and whatever I do have figured out. I should have about the same level of access while we travel, I think, so I expect to be able to post - just won't have my regular machine for working out her new levels.

Sounds like a strong choice - although demons (and a lot of fiendish stuff generally) comes with fire immunity so it won't be much good a lot of the time. Flame Strike mythic might be a better choice if you want something firey and smitey.

Yeah sorry about the whole 'minimal damage' thing Snow has. She's much better at controlling other mages than trying to kill them. On the up side its rare that anyone is going to a. get reinforcements in or b. escape from her. :)

I honestly don't know Nasira... Mythic is not easy for me :D

I am struggling to find what Path Ability to take next on Zeriax - going over each single option for Archmages, Champions and Universal, and mulling them over. Slow process...

EDIT: At the moment I am considering Fleet Warrior. It could maybe solve one of the main issues for Archers. And Zeriax already has a VERY decent move ;)


yes you could spend the 7 days to retrain Zeriax along with the gp cost which is escaping me at the moment.

Yeah, a lot of people lost their dots during the Great Paizo Outage of 2018.

I stopped receiving notifications of PMs, but kept my dots. *shrug*

Nasira is still about 75% done with the level up. I forgot it was unfinished.

Crud! Yeah I forgot myself and have got to finish him up as well. I got him mostly done on herolabs but completely didn't even bother to get any of it on my sheet at all. Will have it done by Monday for sure.

OK, so a couple important things to note for everybody

Bastion of good is now at range of 20 ft as opposed to 10 to make you take half damage from the target of my bastion.

Holy Shield grants my shield bonus to allys within 10 feet and my shield radiates as the Daylight spell as opposed to the Light cantrip when i use it. only used it like once so far because it was only for adjacent allies and is a standard action to use but now it's better

Var, I don't take penalties with my sheild when i twf and can use my enhancement bonus on the sheild as attack and damage bonus. (which is gonna get real nasty at 13th level when I get 2 bashes with Imp TWF and become the meat-grinder)

OK, Nasira will bump her Wisdom though it really isn't a big issue for her - it really only helps save DCs for her spells. Her Charisma has been bumped in the past to maximize her channeling.

However, I did select Flame Strike as her new mythic spell, so the bump to wisdom will help there.

For her path ability, I have narrowed down the list and I'm curious what you folks think:

Divine Potency would allow me to prepare four additional first-level spells per day; taking this ability again grants additional second-level spells, etc. (Not the highest on my list, but worthy of consideration, especially for later selections granting higher-level spells.)

Hand of Mercy would allow me to expend a use of channel energy to mimic the paladin's mercy ability. I could select from several choices rather than having to specify one mercy when I take the ability. (I don't want to step on our paladin's toes and have rarely seen a mercy actually used, so this doesn't excite me. Via my subdomain, I can already do much of what the first selection allows, but subsequent selections would grant the ability to remove additional conditions.)

Life Current would replace all 1's with 2's when rolling for healing. Subsequent selections of this ability would make 3's the minimum possible result, then 4's, etc. (Less exciting now, but taking it additional times so those healing dice fails are less painful seems worthwhile.)

Mythic Spellcasting would allow me to pick up four more mythic spells. (I have trouble selecting mythic spells as it is, getting to choose two per level rather than just one... Seriously, this is an interesting option, especially if we want Nasira to have more offensive options.)

Overflowing Grace would allow anyone that I healed that was at full or reached full hit points to gain a +1 sacred bonus to most d20 rolls for a minute. (In a pinch, I could give a free sacred +1 to attack, skill checks, ability checks and saving throws by channeling if everyone was close to or already at full. Worth it?)

Sustained by Faith would mean that Nasira requires no food, no water, and no sleep. She could regain daily abilities requiring rest by meditating for an hour. One use of mythic power would also negate her need to breathe for 24 hours. (Very tempting, but she's built to aid others, so this isn't high on the list.)

I have some thoughts on what I might do, but I'm open to hearing your suggestions, as always. The path ability selection is the last thing in leveling up.

Grace means that healing is always useful, even if somone hasnt taken hits. Sustained is just awesome. And who can say no to more mythic spells?

I really like those two.

Mythic casting is REALLY awesome. Man mythic spells are just WAY cool powerful. And the more you have... just awesome.

And I love love love Sustained by Faith. But I also love ANY type of feat/magic item type thing that does those type things. Not superpowered by any stretch but quite, quite the handy. That's the word I'm looking for! Handy. I love handy stuff. :)

Truly a tough call between those two. You could always get 1 of them now and take the other one next time.

Ultimately, since you said she's built to aid others, I'd probably go with Mythic spells. That's probably what I would do too. But man that Sustained by Faith sure would gnaw at me. :P
