Tome of Secrets: Warlock

Product Discussion

OK, if you've read this, somewhat poorly edited class you may have seen a gem in the rough... or maybe crap I can't decide.

What I do know is it's a VERY interesting way to do a PF Warlock!

What I'm wondering is:

Copied from the School Ability: The warlock does not cast spells.
Instead, he is infused with supernatural energy that
allows him to perform magical powers at will.

Now after that you get to go through the Wizard school list and choose School abilities... does that mean you can use them at will instead of the listed number of time per day? Or is that just flavor text...

Since they were trying to create a PF version of the Warlock I think it may mean @will and since most of the School abilities are kind of weak I'm not sure if that would a be a problem....

Is anyone here my familiar with the writings of Adamant publishing? I can't seem to find a forum for them, to ask on (very bare bones sort of company)...

Anyway, even if you don't know for certain I'd like opinions on how this might add or crap a game.

I have another player who will be playing a Witch and Im wondering if he might blow her away with what he's capable of... though most of the abilities even at will are fairly benign.

If not @will, would it still be an interesting class with the listed number of activations?

Thank you

Thanks for the question! I'm the owner and creative director of Adamant -- and yes, we're pretty small: just me, and various freelance writers and artists.

To answer your question: The TOS Warlock uses the school abilities at will, as written. It was not intended as just flavor text.

Mr. Skarka, I'd like to take a moment to commend you for the Warlock, as presented in T.O.M. You managed to take a class my room-mate and I really loved in 3.5 and recreate it with a cool spin. Though I may have to adjudicate a few power choices you manged to create a mechanic that allowed for a growing field of possible choices without ever having to put out a book 2 :)

As my roomie and I discussed possible school power combinations I realized there were too many (what with elemental and focused schools) I'm overjoyed that it may take multiple attempts to play them alll
