Is it wrong that I'm attracted to Chrysanthe, Annika, and Lyriet?

I feel like this thread has become a museum lunch room.

As a related confession, I still occasionally quote Friends to friends and family who watched it.

Why never?! Ignoring silly restrictions is half the fun of DMing. ;)

Not at all! *Tears of joy*

I just can't stop watching Free beat his head against the tree.

Don't worry, I hear that a lot. Also, time for a confession!

I actually prefer the artwork of 3.5e books to some of the Pathfinder ones.

I think fantasy races get less interesting the farther away they get from being human.

I think fantasy races get less interesting the closer they are to being human.

On that same note, I hate it when the Core Races of a given book are the only options.

I miss the Larry Elmore art of 2nd edition, and prefer it to a lot of the art from 3rd edition and Pathfinder. I also wish Paizo would hire Steve Prescott as an artist for Pathfinder.

Confession: I'm pretty much always a human. The times I'm not are when its not an option.

I am almost never a human. For some reason, D&D and Pathfinder bring out my inner misanthrope.

I'm not a big fan of Mythos, and think its oversaturated in Golarion.

So am I reading this correctly...?

Is the post about gamers that don't bathe still the number one favorited post here after 14 pages?

Since the thread isn't about 'what actual thing (being unbathed) will get you shunned by the paizo community but instead is what confession you would make (not liking unbathed gamers) that will get you shunned" among the paizo community.

Measured by favorites on posts... adhering to the true context of the original question... it's not so much that people agree that they don't like smelly gamers... In reality that idea would clearly make your confession one of the most popular or least shunned confessions...

But... By the context of the title of the thread ... instead it means

The largest population of people who can agree about which belief they share that would inspire the most ire within the community
...is the group of people who confess to not liking unbathed paizo gamers...

*** The most popular opinion is the opinion that an aversion to smelly gamers would make them shunned ***
That the paizo community would shun them for not liking stinky gamers.
That the paizo community would prefer them to instead like stinky gamers.
They'd be less shunned if they could just train their noses to appreciate the paizo community's properly aged piquant bouquet.... so to speak.

The largest group of people who share a belief about what they think will get them shunned by the paizo community are the people who,
more than any other potentially offensive thing that they could possibly admit to believing,
believe that the paizo community is mostly comprised of people of the unbathed-and-would-shun-you-for-admitting-you-don't-like-it variety...

AHAHAHAHAH. That is awesome... Take that paizo community.

Sorry.

You make no sense, and I pity your smelly armpits.

If having a mind for meta is being stinky then I don't want to be clean
The question is do you like it
And should I shun you if you don't

Scarab Sages

My favorite character I ever played had three different base classes by the time he was level 7, and was a killing machine (2H Fighter, Vanilla Barbarian, 2H Ranger). I too cannot help but multi-class nearly every character I play.

One of my favourite and most memorable campaign ever involved a good female drow (with whom my character was in love); a ranger of Mielikki, fighting with two scimitars like another good drow of some repute... and I'm not ashamed to say that it was an awesome game!

You've got guts. I doubt many would admit to such a things.

I admit it:

I don't hate the players. I don't think they're being "entitled" if they want to try new things. I think that the real people I'm choosing to spend time with are more important than make-believe settings that don't really exist.

SHAME!!!!!!

And I admit: I don't hate the players either. EVEN if they are a bunch of "entitled" people who get whiny if I don't let them play anything they like. I also think the real people I'm choosing to spend time with are more important than make-believe settings that don't really exist. I just don't see why asking them to adapt a little for the game means they are less important than the game.

I use rule zero. A lot.

Or, more of a fool's errand in a game where some classes can alter reality and others swing pointy sticks.

Considering the RAI often leads to things like "Drinking the blood of your enemies is fine if you do it for fun, but not if you actually do it for a reason and gain a benefit from it", I'ma have to disagree with your blanket statement.

I tend to look down on games that have dry or boring character sheets. It took me years to warm up to D&D 3rd edition because their character sheet looked like a tax-form with virtually no attempt to make it look pretty (unfortunately, Pathfinder RPG's sheet is not far ahead).

In comparison, the World of Warcraft RPG published by Arthaus in 2005 had virtually the same sheet but aesthetically pleasing. Only then did I consider playing 3rd ed...

You did know that Arthaus was just another label for the late and great White Wolf? Arthaus was where all the D20 compatible stuff including Sovereign Stone was published under.
Arthaus also got Big Eyes Small Mouth 3rd ed. Great game imho, I wish it had been more popular.

I think BESM abandoning it's Tri-Stat system for D20 was a terminal mistake.

I have heard this before, but I don't think either system does the concept justice. Truth be told, I think owod would have been much better. I think we got glimpses with exalted.

I want a bestiary that helps me build a monster that makes sense, not one that fits a CR guideline.

I too am curious about this 'sense' of which DPH speaks.

If I were apply sense to real-life animals, they'd have something like 1 HD per size category, massive DR/-- depending on size category, +0 BAB, +0 base saves, and no skill ranks regardless of HD. Well, maybe predators would get +1 BAB and smart animals would get a handful of ranks.

Oh, and Small creatures of all types would have 0 reach.

I think that's a good start to making sense of the game, but I don't know if DPH has the same idea.

Whenever I see someone say that they like race bloat, all I want to do is quote them and post a link to the race that I published a few hours ago as well as to the other races I have published and it not be impolite or totally shameless on my part.

I love a wide variety of fantastic races. There is only one race for the game that I truly despised when introduced to it.

And it wasn't kender.

Up until they showed up, there was at least a small place in my heart for all the new races introduced in the 3.5 line of Races Of books. These guys were the combo breaker.

It wasn't just one thing. It was how the whole package came together.

But the worst parts that pushed it over the edge were:

1. They were characterized like ridiculous and hateful gay stereotypes from the 80's.

2. Their roleplaying advice was downright sociopathic and unintentionally designed from the ground up to grief everyone at the table.

Basically imagine if the guy from Mannequin had purple scales all over throwing fireballs around without a care, never apologizing for any allies or innocents caught in the crossfire because that would imply he did something wrong. And then clone him.

Edit: Actually that's unfair. The guy from Mannequin was sympathetic in comparison.

Sounds like a good villain race then...?

But geared primarily towards players. Also, non-evil as the norm IIRC

(oh God making them a villain race actually makes the implications worse. D: )

Of course it does. Just adds to the fun. =)
