I'm still a little unclear and there seems to be a lot of good people helping make clarifications already so...
Example A: Both characters in the same location, both characters have reveal weapon cards of some type. Player 1 encounters a bane monster of some stripe. Both character may reveal weapon cards to complete this check. True/False?
Example B: Both characters in the same location, Player 1 has a reveal weapon and encounters a bane monster of some stripe. Player 2 may not assist with their melee or ranged 'basic' (IE: non-card) attack. True/False?
Example C: Both characters in different locations, both characters have reveal weapon cards of some type. Player 1 encounters a bane monster of some stripe. Both character may reveal weapon cards to complete this check. True/False?
Thanks :)

Ex. A False
ex B. True
Ex. C. False
A card will tell you if it breaks these rules. Some ranged weapons say discarded it to add a d4 to another location, but the large majority of cards that are just reveal cards do not work.
Also, a characters powers like Harsk and Valeros add d4 to other combat checks, and Lem to any type of check.
Also take note if the card says "your" or "another" players check. If it does not have either of those clauses, i'm pretty sure you can play it on any players check.

The key distinction being that a weapon says 'For your combat check' which wouldn't be true if you aren't the one encountering the card? VS Harsk's power, for example, which says 'to add 1d4 to a combat check at another location.'
So the card wording is shaping the game play specifically, over the general rule of 'play cards that affect the check (pg 11).' In the theme of the golden rule. Got it. Thanks!
We had a lot of fun trying this out last night and I think all in all we did well with following the rules. Great work Mike and team!

I'm pretty sure player 2 would be able to play a blessing or something affecting a weapon in Ex B.
Yes they can assist with a blessing... but not a long sword or crossbow or raw Strength, Melee, Dexterity, or Ranged dice.
When they do assist with a blessing it adds the same dice type that the person fighting the encounter uses based upon whatever skill they are using. (So for Valeros a blessing for a melee check would be at +1d10 and for Kyra it would be +1d6 and for Amri +1d12)
