Good morning,

I was wondering why swapping patrons was not allowed in the retraining rules.

With the PFS retraining, I was looking at swapping out my witch's patron, but was sad to see that only the Hexes are retrainable. Wizards can retrain specialities, Clerics Domains, Sorcerers Bloodlines, but no love for the witch.

I was curious if there was a fluff reason, or if it could be added in errata..


My guess would be that once you make a pact, as you do with your patron, you are locked in for life, and maybe even after.

And the same wouldn't go about the blood that literally flows in your veins?

Except that it's PFS that triggered the coversation. Which is why I'm asking if it was a design reason or oversight.

Isn't your witch patron a class feature and isn't there an option to retrain it? Not sure how that works with bonus spells, they may just switch automatically but if a Druid can change from an animal companion to a domain I imagine a witch can trade patron.


Looks like it got left off the list. I'm guessing it's an oversight.


Yeah, I'm definitely in the camp that thinks this was accidentally looked over. I'll FAQ it so it can be looked at.
