So even though one might argue having such an ally in your party should be a positive, people don't view it that way. I can't say this is always true that people don't view it as a positive.

Especially with the harder scenarios coming out, knowing that a munchkin-power-optimiser is in the party is a pretty big boon in knowing we stand a chance.

Granted, this is probably more a fault of the scenarios becoming too difficult rather than good party management, but that's the state of the game as it is at the moment. So it's not always something that's viewed as a negative in real terms.
