Just read your story Andrew. Seems we had similar ideas about a certain Chelixian Queen. I love strange coincidences. Crazy, is it not?

Yeah... just read yours. The two stories could almost be in continuity with each other. I have Abrogail taking more of a "long con" approach, but the theme is the same.

I think it's because her character portrait captures her mystery so well. She's like the Mona Lisa of Golarion... everybody wants to know her story and it's easy to think there's something more going on behind those eyes.

Yes. I love that picture of her. She is darkly gorgeous, and the desire to redeem her just seemed natural to me. Of course, I've always preferred the "bad guy" Bond girls like Rosamund Pike and Sophie Marceau; so maybe it's a theme with me.

As far as Round 2, while I have no problems with flash fiction; I have no idea what to write about next. I just want it to be DIFFERENT!

Good luck to all of my fellow authors.

My first few treatments were over 1000 words. After discussions with family and friends it's a lot more manageable. I'm also in the camp of "set it aside for a few days, and re-visit".
Hopefully we get to see all the submissions, some time after the turn-in?

Yes, they'll be posted after October 10th.

Three revisions and a title change later mine is done and submitted. Was lots of fun. :D

Since it seems this thread got swallowed up...

I'd like to congratulate all my fellow participants and competition. :) It was a blast to write my stories for this contest (Zero Hour and The Dragon's Attention), and to read everyone else's!

A big congratulations to Maggie Hoyt for her first-place story, Wealday's Child!

All Round 2 stories can be seen here.

Yes, congratulations to Maggie and the silver and bronze medalists as well!

Congrats to everyone who entered! I swear the overall level of the entries gets stronger every year--a testament to how much folks working together at Pathfinder Chronicler does to polish and refine your skills. Great job!

Yay, Maggie! I worked with Maggie on the Journeys to the West project, and she is very talented. :)

I had a blast this year, and once again there were some really awesome stories that I had the pleasure to compete against in both rounds. There are some familiar names that keep cropping up near the top, and some new ones as well, both of which are good to see. :)

Would it be possible to get comments on our stories from the judges when/if any of them have the time to do so? I'm powered by feedback and caffeine after all, and I'm doubtless the only one. ;)

The Exchange

Thanks for the congratulations, everyone! I too had so much fun competing.

A big especial thanks goes to James Sutter and Pathfinder Chronicler for judging and holding the contest. It's a lot of work for busy people, and it is so cool that it happens. I know I'm not the only one who likes to exercise my imagination in Golarion, and this is a great opportunity to do that. So, thanks!
