I assumed TOZ wasn't an individual but a hive mind with a multiple personality disorder, or a colony of Penguins called Gunter.

I am leaning towards the penguins because we all know how evil they are.

That's why he started the myth of global warming, so as to blindside us when the ice age hits. I imagine the amassing of his troops would vaguely resemble this

This has diverged into whole new realms of entertaining... it'd be real nice to be directed to the start of the new posts when I head back here.

Are you ready, James? ("Rawr") Gary? (*eyewave*) Wes? ("Uh huh...")

Alright, fellas, let's go!

Well, it's been getting so hard
Livin' with the posts you show to me
My quotes are getting so strange
I'd like to tell you everything I see
I see a man in the thread. let it never be said
His screeds were read by everyone,
And a girl in the linkage who caused quite a stinkage
'Cause she thinks showing her 'tats' is fun

Oh, yeah, it was elating, everybody was debating
Then the boards started clocking, 'cause there was some thread-locking
Yeah, Yeah, Yeah, Yeah

And the man at the back said "OH EHM EFF GEE HAX"
And it turned into a threadjack blitz
And the Vic at the server said "girl, they don't deserve ya"
Gary turned it to a threadjack blitz
Threadjack blitz
Threadjack blitz
Threadjack blitz
Threadjack blitz

I also have an idea for solving thread derail trainwrecks that doesn't involve locking the thread, but I need to refine the concept a bit, and it'll require new code.

I really don't want Gary to write that code—or, more accurately, I don't want him to have to feel that he *needs* to. I want him to spend that time making GameSpace better, or making it easier to report Pathfinder Society play, or adding some other useful feature to paizo.com. The minutes he spends on moderation, and on code for "solving thread derail trainwrecks", cost a lot—and I'm talking about opportunity, not money (though they do that as well).

If we could all just not be jerks, paizo.com would be a better place, and for more than the obvious reasons.

To be fair, I think that's a little idealistic. You could go even further and say it'd be nice if we didn't need moderators at all so that everyone could work on all of those things you mentioned and more, but the fact is that that behaviour does exist, and now because of it, more needs to be done to address it.

Fair go in asking people to behave, but I have to say I hope it's enough.
