Back in AD&D days I had an illusionist who had no form of attack spells. Used misdirection with illusions to make the other party members both look good and think he was powerful. Not sure how that would play anymore, but always wanted to try that concept again.

I was thinking of implementing this unironically for a while, but I might as well share it here, as it seems like I may not be able to actually play it for a while.

I'm quite interested in playing a ninja or rogue that takes Leadership. I feel like this sort of build would be one of the best ways to play a character that's supposed to be the head of an organized crime syndicate.

VERY sorry to necro, but I just played a character I had a blast with. Mechanically, it was a Filcher Rogue archetype (the best thief in the game) but the first two levels i went with Mysterious avenger. He was a Robin Hood style Halfling (which in our game, halflings weren't common in our area of the world, so EVERYONE knew who he really was behind the mask, which would lead to some very funny role play) that used a whip. First two levels of Mysterious Avenger grants you whip proficiency, panache, weapon finesse, and charmed life. The next 8 i went filcher and used my powers of theft to steal from the rich and evil and give to the poor. Rest of the levels I went with Swashbuckler and would continue to do so.

The character himself was actually not terrible in combat, but he was no where near the damage dealer the party barbarian was. However with being able to steal, trip, and do lots of other fun stuff he was a very good battlefield controller. Also, beyond awesome to play.

Halfling two weapon slayer. She used to be a Rogue and was a blast to roleplay...but when fighting started I was often pretty much a waste of resources. I wanna try it again, but with better stat distribution and a class that can actually fight.

I've got this concept I've wanted to try. He's a half-orc, but I don't know whether he'd be a fighter, a monk, or a really demented bard.

He would be an unarmed combatant with insanely high Str and Cha. He would always speak very loudly and deliver long speeches to NPCs. ...

For example:

"Now, you listen here. The Orc has been listening to you flapping your lips, and The Orc is not impressed. Now you listen here, jabroni. You're going to put down that little pike of yours. You're going to open that door. And you're going to let us through. And ... if you don't ...

"The Orc is going to take his size nine and a half boot, turn it sideways, and ram it up your candy ass ... if can SMELLLLLLLLLLL WHAT THE ORC IS COOKING!!!!!"

Reading this all I can think of is that now the Exemplar Brawler is a thing so it would be both hilarious AND effective.

You shouldn't, this is a great thread.

Back in 2nd Ed days, I played a 1st level wizard who only memorized magic missile, carried two crystal daggers and called himself Palgaro dagger thrower. He would claim the daggers were magical Returning daggers, and use them in the somatic component of casting magic missile.

More recently I played a human oracle with the bones mystery and the haunted curse. He was 17, girl crazy, thought Pharasma was ok with undead, obsessed with his ancestors, honored his dad by carrying around his mundane mornignstar, and when he cast any spell that could reflect his flavor they would manifest as one of his ancestors (ie. Spiritual Weapon was a Morningstar, Spiritual Ally was his dad or random aunt/uncle). Mostly he was known for his skirt chasing because he took both Skill Focus: Diplomacy, and Persuasive. He wasn't as emo as the party expected; running around in bone armor and thinking about death all the time seemed to be a turn on for the girls. He died the same session he was given the nickname 'Boner', alas.

Most recently I made a Wayang slayer that is loosely based on Salad Fingers. She grew up on a ship and became the ship's boogeyman to scare sailors away from abandoning the ship. She accepts rusty items as payment, talks to inanimate objects, and gives made-up names to PCs and NPCs. I've only played her twice so far, so she has not yet had a chance to say "I like when the red water comes out."

I sometimes make sorcerers that only pick spells that I think would be fun using.

I once played a shaper psion that put all of her skill points into spellcraft and craft skills. I had lots of fun spontaneously making useful items with powers and talents. Utility Astral constructs were also very fun to mess with.

Any fighter I make is always just for fun. One was for a pathfinder in space campaign. I wrote him up as a Doc Savage impersonator. He ran around acting like an 80s action hero for the sake of being an 80s action hero (TN).

In a 5th edition campaign, my Tiefling BladeLock (reworking into Eldritch Knight, sadly), and my friends Paladin have become the good cop/bad cop duo. One of many plot hooks in a town we were in was a rash of deaths occurring. After bouncing all over town, we come to find out that one of the nobles had poisoned his wife for cheating on him. The poisoned wine got out and then was killing other people. So while the paladin had been diplomancing all day, the Tiefling has grown sick and tired of all the shenanigans and busts into the noble's mansion, essentially coats himself in Thaumaturgy spells to just look like the devil himself and scare off the servants (they were innocent), bust into the nobles room, and hold him up at greatsword point. Got a confession, knocked him out, and dragged him to the town guards. Unintended, but fun.

I played a gnome healer, from 3.5, that had a 3 str. He wielded a spear that did 1d3-4 damage. He also rode in the barbarians backpack and attacked from there. He called out little duo Master Blaster. Was great fun all the way around.

Silver Crusade

My "flavor" character that I can never seem to bring to a game is an aasimar holy vindicator (probably paladin 5 to qualify). He would be built around the Angelic Blood aasimar feats, and be all about spilling his sacred blood FREAKING EVERYWHERE. Pure, insane levels of zealotry. The type of man who thinks he's a failure if his work doesn't cause him to bleed. He will never hold a shield, only wears armor as much as it makes him look like a shining knight, and two-hands a longsword.

Haven't played him due to a combination of not having a group makeup for it, being pretty weak overall, and a real possibility that he's just too disruptive.

Cassandra is a Witch addicted to love. She'll do just about anything to make that love a reality but she tends to get a little....emotional when things don't work out. Her familiar is the head of her last boyfriend....he just didn't understand her feelings and kept hanging around that barmaid... he just didn't understand how great her love was. Now they are together forever. (Imp Familiar - Beheaded)

Grand Lodge

Hereh (pronounced as an exhale of air and a grow) is a Kitsune Shapeshifter/Witch Guard Ranger. He was raised by the witches of Irrisen as basically a pet. He's now escaped and joined the Pathfinder Society. I haven't gotten to play him yet, but he will be incredibly submissive to magic users. He also has a hierarchy of who he will follow. He follows the most powerful arcane caster. If there's no arcane then he follows the divine casters that are more powerful casters. Should the group only have divine casters at a lower caster level than himself. Hereh is in charge, clearly.

Eliot is my halfling occultist. He has the Childlike racial feat and focused on disguise and bluff so he can masquerade as a human child. One of his implements is a doll named Mrs. Rackleshack who frequently comes to life for scouting and oddjobs. My opening line when I sit down at a PFS table (in a higher pitched very childish voice) "Hi! My name's Eliot, and this is Mrs. Rackleshack! Will you be our new friend?" It is played very psychotic cheerful with a hint of creepy since he casts evocation and necromancy spells. I love him very much.

My favorite character I've ever played is The Great Gambolbini, a human arcane sorcerer who was absolutely convinced he was a wizard when in fact he was an absolute idiot with an intelligence of 6. He would constantly give misinformation on different monsters the pcs were fighting, often exchanging a single word to disastrous results. However, he was so charismatic that he was very good at convincing everyone to go along with anything he said. Also, he would consistently forget his own name, and add various syllables to it.
