Using your armor against firearms?

Advice

Shadow Lodge

I've been DM'ing a Wild West style campaign, with Advanced firearms, and let me tell you... its is a different game! Very fun. Require a lot of out side of the box thinking Dex becomes way more important over Str, and everyone who wants to deal ranged damage has at least ONE level in gunslinger.

Now I wanted to make enemies that wear armor, and use their armor against the touch AC of firearms. So, besides gun tank, is there any item, feat, prestige class, or archetype that lets me use my armor bonus against firearms?

I too am running a Wild West campaign.

One thing I did was say that force effects like shield and bracers of armour were effective against firearms.

Another thing is saying special materials like adamantine or mithril are likewise 'bulletproof'

Love to hear more on how your game is going. Having someone to compare notes with is always a plus!

Wait, can I ask what measure of 'bullet proof' we are talking about here? Do you just mean that it works like normal armor in giving AC, or does it mean that you are immune to bullets (which would be silly I guess, since a breast plate would not stop a bullet to the head)

Would the rule be overturned if they were using adamantine bullets?

Shadow Lodge

I suppose bullet proof just meaning ignores the touch AC part of firearms...

And I'll message you MIstah J.

So I guess thats a no? I must have been imagining such a thing...

I only found an amulet addign AC vs firearm:

Amulet of Bullet Protection

Aura faint abjuration; CL 5th

Slot neck; Price 1,500 gp (+1), 6,000 gp (+2), 13,500 gp (+3), 24,000 gp (+4), or 37,500 gp (+5); Weight —
DESCRIPTION

This amulet, usually crafted from the splintered remains of spent firearm bullets shaped into a rough holy symbol or clover, grants the wearer a luck bonus to AC against firearm attacks that target touch AC.

I simply would make it a +2 enchantment, ghost touch is +3, so +2 maybe fine. Though in a firearm heavy world maybe +3 better.

Say that the Chinese(Or whoever in your game) have developed special silk that provides great DR against firearms and bullets. The trade off being, they provide nothing against anything else.

Thanks Carn, I saw that one too.
