Hi guys, my name is William Taylor, and I am a relative newcomer to Pathfinder. Discovered it almost a month ago, and decided to jump head first into it, I ve got a couple playgroups in Prescott, Arizona one plays on Thursday and one on Friday and its a general good time. Just wnated to make my first post here in the boards and say hello to the Pathfinder community!

I never understand how people say the boards are covered in trolls, I've been here for months to years and I think most of you have never seen an actual troll-infested board.
Most posts have a lot of good discussion, the troll posts are few and far between.
Actual, honest to God trolls? You're right, they're pretty rare.
But compared to other places where Tabletop game talk occurs, this place is mean. I've seen some very respected people be downright cruel. It upsets me. I have no desire for that kind of abuse, and it makes me not want to be here. If it was up to me, some people would have gotten their account suspended for a time based on their comments.

2. Keep the fighter in front.
3. Keep the Cleric alive.
Gonna sum these two up as "protect your buddies." If an ally is incapacitated then (a) there's one less character fighting your enemies and (b) there's one less player who's actively enjoying the encounter, because he can't do anything on his turn. Both bad things.
And it never hurts to have a secondary healer to help with (3). If the cleric/primary healer falls unconscious you want someone else to be able to prevent him/her from bleeding out.
Welcome to the game, hope you find the forums fun and/or helpful. I recommend not taking them too seriously.

Welcome to the boards and the game. While I have seen some true jerks on these forums, I have found them to be few and far between. The advice for a thick skin, however, does apply here as it does anywhere; don't take anything folks say on the boards personally (ESPECIALLY in the Off Topic forums) and you should be fine.

LOL, I totally agree with Avatar-1. I spend quite a bit of time on political messageboards. I've yet to have anyone on these boards actually threaten to kill me (and my family), and I've only been compared to Hitler or Stalin once or twice in several years, instead of once or twice a day...
These boards are virtually a peaceful paradise compared to most boards I've been to.
And in terms of just RPG boards, I have to think some people have never been to Wizards' forums if they think these boards are bad.
