I apologize in advance if this has been asked before or is somewhere obvious, but can I opt to do the Slow Progression when applying the GM Credit for a Scenario/Module to one of my characters?
Sure you can, as long as that character is currently on slow progression or just made a level.

I agree that it is quite legal. But sheer curiousity makes me HAVE to ask. Why would you WANT to do this?
If your characters are levelling up too quickly just create new GM credit babies.
If you want to play your character for a longer time (at whatever levels are the "sweet spot" for you) then why apply a GM chronicle to that character at all

Specific example:
I am GMing an adventure path. The chronicle sheet from book 3 has a really cool item I want, but I don't want to "kill" 3 Xp from my character. That is 3 less scenarios I can play with her! So I put her on slow track, apply the chronicle sheet and Bam! I got access to the item, and need 3 more scenarios to level, just as if she was fast track.

Ah. That makes sense. Thanks.
And I guess the 2 major downsides of slow play (increased consumable cost and increased chance of death) hardly apply to GM credit

This brings up an interesting point for me. Some of the season 4 boons are really cool but come with a price if you take them in game. Do those penalties still apply to characters who get them via GM credit.
(I'm almost sure this is a yes, but I was wondering what the official rule is)
This is a yes, price to be paid upon applying the credit to the new character (either alignment shift or atonement).
