At first i scoffed at the idea of using paper minis for gaming. But currently I am a player in the Serpent Skull AP and my GM is using the paper minis and i'm pretty impressed so far, they look good and do a gret job of getting the feel across of what you are fighting.
Last night we fought the Vagabond spiders and I nearly soiled my pants when he put out these humongous spiders, it was great.

Color me very impressed. What's that you're using for the bases? Black-painted cardboard?
Its some black plasticky/cardboardy stuff I got from my mates Blockbuster when he closed it down. Some kind of display board. I haven't been able to source any more to buy, going with heavy card for Skull & Shackles minis.

That was a memorable encounter for us too! Caused the death of the alchemist/rogue on point. He saw one of them as he left the main tunnel entrance, but the second was above the opening, I rolled three 20's in a row which is an insta-kill in our game (20-20-confirm= -1 and dying).
Love the colossal spiders, it became a kinda theme, starting on the island, my DMPC got jumped while taking a dump by a small sized one. They just kept getting bigger from there.
