You might be seasoned after this one. A little salt and pepper plus charred character flesh?

Liberty's Edge 5/5

If you're a PFS volunteer at Gen Con, please try to be at the volunteer meeting on Wednesday from 5 -6 pm. We'll try to keep the meeting short but we really need as many volunteers as possible to be there so we can minimise issues over the weekend.

Same here. I may regret this, but bring it.

Liberty's Edge 5/5

If I end up being the alternate GM to run this, it will have to be sometime after 8pm, as I'm going to the V-L dinner at 7pm.

Dark Archive 2/5

Is anybody else interested in running the Waking Rune for another Scotty's slot, or midnight madness?

I love hard mode. Unfortunately, this time I only have 1 character for 7-11.

Liberty's Edge 5/5

Not willing to do anything that will have me awake much after 2am. So no Midnight Madness for me. About the latest I want to start a session is about 9pm.

I touch down at 6:14pm and have the V-L Dinner between 7pm and 9pm... but yeah, I'm willing to run a Hard Mode game that evening.

3/5

Is anyone planning on running something 3rd slot at Scotty's other than the informally planned hard mode game? I've only browsed the thread, so sorry if I missed something, but from the little I've seen it may be hard to grab a DM with a Gen Con meeting and the Hard Mode game going on, but I've been checking regularly with warhorn in hopes of things being otherwise. I'll be unfortunately missing most of Gencon, and have the one day (well for slot 2 and 3) to let loose. :)

3/5

I had thought that Rivalry's End / Way of the Kirin had to be done _before_ Wednesday the 14th for the boon, and that starting on the 14th there would be no more LL and SL? Or am I wrong, and Wednesday is the last day we can play as LL or SL?

Unfortunately, I will have the VC dinner after the GM meeting so I can not do that time. I would be interested if there are enough people staying Sunday night to play a Hard Mode game after the con.

Only thing, both boons say they must be earned/applied before August 14th.

The blog from June 10th is the same.

I always assumed Wednesday would be fine, but the language used makes it sound like this needs to be done before then...

It might make sense to have some informal shuttle / carpool that can take people from the Arsenal to the convention hall to make that meeting. (Being dropped off at the hall as opposed to driving to the hotel and walking will save at least a half hour.)

If no one else steps up, I might GM something in that slot. Something short. I was thinking Rivalry's End, but if it's too late for players to apply the boon, maybe not. Maybe someone else could clarify.

I also have to figure out when to check into the hotel and get my badge with all this gaming. :)

If there's still space at the table, I have an 11th-level summoner who isn't afraid to take on one of the most powerful conjuration specialist in the history of the world.

Mortika, you totally just convinced me to wait to play that mod until my summoner levels into range. That sounds epic.

There is now a Hard mode/with GM schedualed at Scotties for the late night slot 7pm-12pm.

We could also put one up in the AM slot.

As with these events every year, it will start filling up faster in the last 14 days.

I have signed up as a player for this slot, but I think this was meant for John to run and others to play. I'll back out if that's meant for them.

On the events listed, is that close to the final list? Either it’s events that are above my level (7 and above), ones I’ve already played, or ones I could play, but have been filled.

I will keep checking back.

It's a list based on what people are volunteering to run in this thread or from emailing Chris. Maybe offer to GM a lower level scenario that you can apply to your character? It's a casual venue so could be a fun place to cut your teeth GMing if you haven't before.

I've thought about GMing for Society more than once, but would rather start in a smaller venue, like my local store.

Also, would prefer to begin with a 1-2 scenario, and I need a 5 tier for my character. But thanks for the suggestion, I will probably GM at some point. :)

I don’t know Kyle, you guys have an All-Star line up.

Just curious, but what are the classes going in? If you know yet.

Hobbun wrote:

I got two in range: Bard 10/oracle of lore 1 (archer build) and a Wizard 5/Bloatmage 5 (conjuration [teleportation])

For either one, I think I will be saving all my cash for some massive consumables purchases. It's like playing EOTT again!

Edit: I can probably get the bloatmage to 11 beforehand. YAY level 6 spells!

Wednesday is too late to apply the boon to Rivalry's End or Way of the Kirin. So they're out.

It'll probably be easier to setup this without Warhorn. You have your GM and your 6.

Unless the Warhorn manager wants to setup a new slot and add all of those players in himself so people don't have time to fill it before everybody can reserve their spot.

I'm still setup in the Warhorn spot for HARD MODE, if that was meant to be a different one from yours.

So initial discussions sound like this:

Fighter/Wizard/EK
Wizard/Bloatmage
Tattooed Sorceress
Bardic Shadowdancer
Falconer Ranger
Unknown

With so much arcane at the table, what could possibly go wrong vs. a Runelord... *smh*

No it isn't. Wednesday is the last day you can apply the boon, as the 15th is when the factions go away.

Your character will receive the free faction change on August 14th but no other benefits. The character must choose a new legal faction the first time he plays a scenario on or after that date.

Check the language on the boons. Both specifically say before August 14th as well.

They might have intended to say on or before, but they do not as it stands now.

Is there any way to get an official ruling on this? I'm signed up to run in that WotK game and all the VO's here told me it'd count for the boon. If it doesn't, then I'm going to have to try to scramble to get in a game of it locally before the deadline.

All we can do is hope that Mike comes in and clarifies.

I could have swore I saw Mike say that Wednesday was the last day you could play, but the Blog says it has to be played prior to Wednesday.

Having played hard mode and lived, I can absolutely attest that there is no other way to play this scenario. You only get one shot at it so why not go for it. Glad to see you guys roped John into GMing it.

Hope you all bring your re-rolls!

Kyle: I took your last slot of Rats of Round Mountain. Bringing my Runelord slaying Bloatmage to the party.

It seems like the general consensus of the RAW crowd is that Wednesday is one day too late and us Way of the Kirin people would be borked as far as the boon is concerned. I don't suppose there are any GMs around on Tuesday who would want to run the scenario? :P Pretty please? Pretty please with a beer on top?

That largely depends on what I'm doing on Tuesday. I do not yet know what my setup responsibilities will be that day.

We are still looking for GM's!

So if you are usually a player, come try to gm the 3-7 slot.

I will spread the word in St. Louis, but I think most people are either going to be at the volunteer meeting or will be arriving that night.

Hey Chris, I had volunteered services for Waking Rune on 3rd slot, in case more people decided to show for that. I got removed. I is sad puppy. I'm really good at what I do, which is killing characters, than their players in that order. Can I haz a backup spot? Pllllzzzz.

Sin you want me to put up a regular mode Waking Rune for you?
