I know there's a reference to the Osirioni mummifying lions, but I don't recall them having any special breed of lion. So they have them, but I think they're basically like real world lions.
That said, there might be more in Land of the Pharoahs, which I do not own.

North African animals would fit as its a fantasy counterpart of Egypt.
So animals like lions, leopards, cheetahs, desert lynxes (caracals), sand cats, jackals, hyenas, hippopotami, crocodiles, baboons, lizards, snakes (asps, vipers), gazelles, addax and oryx antelopes, donkeys, sand foxes, jerboas, mongooses, ostriches, hawks, ibis birds, etc.
