What Faction for my half-orc?

I have a half-orc barbarian who will eventually dip into sorcerer and head into dragon disciple. Almost all of my characters for PFS so far have been human and it's been easy to pick a faction, but I'm not sure about this guy. He's dumber than dirt, is complicatedly kind-hearted and his favorite game is hitting things as hard as he can.

Silver Crusade.

I suppose its also about what you want out of a faction. Is there something you personally want to do? Silver Crusade has been my go to for some time now to avoid being mean or evil at all, though it is awkward to do some of the older missions for Andoran with a character from Cheliax.

When in doubt, remember that the Grand Lodge is the 'I don't care about factions' faction.

I thought Shadow Lodge was the I don't care about factions faction? That was actually my first pick when I started but...

Possible Spoilers:
I got tired of digging out corpses. Almost every mission I had was related to a dead pathfinder, and finding his corpse or a part of him. Or killing his undead body. Was a little ridiculous to me.

Mmm... Silver Crusade could be interesting. Lishnak is CN, so not being "good" could keep him from heading in that direction naturally. Of course, he's never been played yet so I could just change his alignment.

If you are planning on playing him out as CN... but with "kind hearted"... hm... that's tough. Also you say "kind hearted" in the same sentence as "hitting things as hard as he can". :-|

How about Sczarni? If he is as simple-minded as you say maybe he thinks he is doing the right thing (but doesn't have enough Int to know he is not)???

Sounds like your character's motivations are on some level deeper than the alignment and "kind hearted" juxtaposition you have set up.

Shadow Lodge

Actually, the Shadow Lodge is the "the Decemvirate are d*cks" faction...

I don't see the conflict.

Ride the shadow lodge explosion. Grandmaster torch has a very pro active half orc hiring policy.

Like I said, "complicatedly kind-hearted." Kinda like Lenny from Of Mice and Men or Ludo from Labyrinth... but is generally nice-ish to those who he perceives as being nice to him, and indifferent or possibly hostile to anyone else. I suppose if I made him CG instead of CN, he's end up being more like the Cookie Monster; kind and violently enthusiastic.

I was thinking Sczarni, but I have two other Sczarni characters and the factions missions I've done so far seem like they would require far more intellect to accomplish (or even remember). The Sczarni's Bad Reputation trait looks very attractive though. Shadow Lodge would likely have been my go-to here except I'd have to change in a few months anyway.

Well, the good thing is that you could start him in Shadow Lodge, then play Rivalry's End. Could be interesting.

Without more of an explanation of his personality or motivations, it seemed conflicting to me. Obviously they are not mutually exclusive (though now I have a picture of a butt-kicking Gandhi going through my head). That was why I wrote...

"Sounds like your character's motivations are on some level deeper than the alignment and "kind hearted" juxtaposition you have set up."

And with Dust Raven's further exposition it makes more sense to me. I think I will agree and +1 Netopalis' suggestion to go Shadow Lodge, do the retirement for the Shadow Lodge and then re-examine the character once you have played him a few times... sometimes walking around in the character's skin (i.e. playing them a few times) helps you "find" the character's voice and it will become clear.

Liberty's Edge

I think the types of mission of the Scarzni would be tough for the PC you describe.

I would go with either Silver Crusade ('holy' crusades are a good excuse for hitting things), Andoren (chaotic neutral I don't like slavers restricting people), or Grand Lodge (default).
