Another Eidolon question

Rules Questions

1. Can I wear chainshirt and cast mage armor on eidolon?
2. Biped had 2 NA, +1 Dex mod and i give it evo: +2 NA so it has 15 AC?
2. I have 2 claws at +5 to hit: 1 bab, 1 weapon focus: claws, +3 str?

I know if you wear armor your eidolon can't but does that count mage armor as armor?

1. Sure, you can wear a chain shirt and cast mage armor on your eidolon. If you're asking whether you can put the chain shirt on the eidolon, eidolons can't wear armor.

2. Yep

3. Math checks out fine.

That rule only applies to magic items, not armor. And in any case, eidolons physically cannot wear armor, I believe (maybe barding? probably not). Go ahead and cast mage armor on both of ya.

thanks, ac seems low but thats probably cause u cant stat it out like a pc and give it more dex =D

Keep in mind it gets a rapidly-growing natural armor bonus as it levels up. Soon your Eidolon will have as much AC as any shield fighter.

Rake (Ex)

An eidolon grows dangerous claws on its feet, allowing it to make 2 rake attacks on foes it is grappling. These attacks are primary attacks. The eidolon receives these additional attacks each time it succeeds on a grapple check against the target. These rake attacks deal 1d4 points of damage (1d6 if Large, 1d8 if Huge). This evolution is only available to eidolons of the quadruped base form. This evolution counts as one natural attack toward the eidolon’s maximum. The summoner must be at least 4th level before selecting this evolution.

if i took the grab evo and rake evo will i get 3 attacks when i am doing my grapple check? my dm says you only do rake dmg with 2 claws but not bite dmg? if so where do i find the information that says you do your bite dmg and 2 claw attacks when you make a grapple check

The way I see it, you take Grab and link it to claw attacks. Attack and if one of them hits, you make a grapple check; succeed, and you are now grappling. At this point you get to make two RAKE attacks. Not claw attacks and not bite attacks, RAKE attacks as specified in the description.

The idea is that if you hit, then you get to grapple. You can forfeit the check if you'd like, but then you might not hit with your last attack and thus you won't get to make a grapple check and take your rake attacks.

as a summoner you can use light armor, your eidolon is not proficient with any armor, so any ACP it reduce its attacks for that amount. And remember that mage armor dose not stack with normal armor, they are the same bonus. you would take the higher bonus.

almost correct. Eidolons are not proficient with armor nor can they wear any physical armor. So eidolons will never suffer from ACP... since they can't wear armor.

Armor Bonus: The number noted here is the eidolon's base total armor bonus. This bonus may be split between an armor bonus and a natural armor bonus, as decided by the summoner. This number is modified by the eidolon's base form and some options available through its evolution pool. An eidolon cannot wear armor of any kind, as the armor interferes with the summoner's connection to the eidolon.

Just clarifying.
