About an hour. I am obsessive about dinosaurs, and have TONS of resources on them. I love paleontology.

Is it me or are all monster-lovers monster-fantatics and monster-collectors totally in love with Dinosaurs as well?

I think my monster addiction started out with Dinosaurs, cuz animals and most of all dinosaurs were my first big hobby, making me kinda a freak-of-nature in the gay-world as most gays seem to hate games, dinosaurs and such things.

Labyrinthosaurus is an add (giant salamander from hell)

COMPLETELY forgot to put amphibians on the list.

To rectify that:
1.Diplocaulus
2.Eryops
3.Gerrothorax
4.Eogyrinus
5.Crassigyrinus
6.Platyhystrix
7.Mastodonsaurus
8.Cacops
9.Peltobatrachus
10.Labyrinthosaurus
11.Acanthostega
12.Ichthyostega
13.Paracyclotosaurus
14.Diadectes
15.Peltobatrachus
16.Elpistostege
17.Greererpeton
18.Koolasuchus
19.Rhinesuchus
20.Prionosuchus

It's sad how much amphibians have fallen. We only have three orders now, compared to how diverse they used to be.

Prehistory was definately my first, and probably still greatest, creature obsession. I could see my character being that weirdo that goes around with a Diadectes animal companion.

Hehe Diplocaulus is by far the most awesome of them, too bad its such a wussy and small creature.

Think about what horrors pathfinder could come up with when they made a Dire Diplocaulus or a Diplocaulus with the appetite and behavior of the Labyrinthosaurus.

You also forgot to mention the Edaphosaurus on your list, but anyway its just a planteater version of the Dimetrodon, not really on my wishlist to be in pathfinder at all. It was one of the first dinosaurus/pre-dinosaurs I got a big-toy puppet from tho even before I got my first Dimetrodon toy, so it has a special place in my heart anyways.

Is Shantungosaurus the biggest Hadrosaur on your list?

Damn, I forgot Edapho. That one seems obvious now. Sphenacodon and Cynognathus too. And Shantungosaurus is a great idea, one I honestly didn't think of until after I posted the list. Hell, I don't even think I have Argentinosaurus on there.
This list mostly came off the top of my head, so it isn't that well thought out.

Well there are so much dinosaurs discovered, so its no wonder you forgot a few.

Craspedodon was my childtime obsession, with no internet to look for the creature I had to do it with a single name in one of my many dinosaur-books, NO other book mentioned anything about this enigmatic creature, and that's why I made my own dinosaur out of it, some nasty creature with horns that grew into fangs (why? ask the child-version of me, I think I wanted more bad-ass teeth dinosaurs and this creatures name ended with DON, which is latin for tooth)

Now after many years I finally found out more about the Craspedodon on wikipedia (hurray for wiki! again!), its just another Iguanodon... and Iguanodon was one of my least favorite dinosaurs ever... all this obsession and searching in libraries for nothing :-p

So if there is one dinosaur I don't want in Bestiary 5 it is Craspedodon, my childhood nightmare!

Tiny size intelligent toy soldiers with magical rifles(w/ bayonets) that have unlimited ammo and never misfire. I would also like to see other toy based monsters mostly constructs but some that are undead, aberrations, magical beast, and oozes.

I have thought of yet another Outsider group that would be nice. How about outsiders based on the tarot's Major Arcanas?
- Magician
- High Priestess
- Empress
- Emperor
- Hierophant
- Lovers
- Chariot
- Strength
- Hermit
- Wheel of Fortune
- Justice
- Hanged Man
- Death
- Temperance
- Devil
- Tower
- Star
- Moon
- Sun
- Judgement
- World
- Fool

The bestiaries really lack raven/crow-monsters! Only the Tengu? And that is a playable race and not evil!

Ow forgot about the Dire corby, and with good reason...

Anyway there are tons of mythological Crow monsters, I mentioned most of them already in the past, Valravn that can shapeshift when it eats a corpse (into the form of the corps) and the German bogeyman the Nachtkrapp who is a giant raven who can transform into a swarm of ravens. Hugin and Munin are the twin raven from Odin, they could belong to a whole species of messenger raven who are always born twins, neutral of course, don't like good-natured raven-monsters at all. Futher there is the raven lord Malphas/Halphas that could use some cool Paizo Jacket around him, maybe use the cool version of Castlevania. Fanart of Malphas from Castlevania

Some giant raven/crow would be cool or the Witchcrow from one of the Winter Bestiaries!

My biggest wish however would be a new magical crow creature (non-humanoid) that has some awesome original and creative magical abilities!

MMCJawa, I apologize in advance.

Dinosaurs:
1. Carnotaurus
2. Ceratosaurus
3. Suchomimus
4. Dilophosaurus
5. Therizinosaurus...

I'd add Amphicoelias to this list and call it perfect.

Half templates for all the core races. Half-kobold, half-elf? No problem. Dwelf? Yup. The-quarterling? Got that too.

There are already Half-Elves and Half Orcs, they aren't used in bestiaries as they are the main playable races.

Demons and more demons.
All other monsters are irrelevant!

Then can you explain to me the reason you betray your precious demons by wearing the face (an avatar) of a Cetaceal Agathion? One of the top-enemies of Demon kind? :-p

Maybe you should pray for an demonbook full of demons, a bestairy full of demons, I'm sure JJ would love to create such a book anyway :-p

The Agathion you mention has been assimilated by the Abyss! :-)

ahhh you are a Shadow Demon wearing the Agathion Cetaceal's body like a queen would wear a party-dress on her birthday?

That's creepy! But I always wanted to meet an evil Cetaceal, cuz I think they are much too cool to be just good-natured dweeps! An evil Cetaceal that is something I would like! One who rides Akhluts into battle! :D

Seriously, I pick this avatar because she looked like the borg queen!

You're not alone Gancanagh, I too am gay, grew up with a love of dinosaurs, and can never get enough monsters.

Angels that are actually based on the angel classification system such as arch angels, seraphim, throne, etc.

Does not have to be outsiders but a group of creatures based on the Tarot cards would be cool. Just like creatures based on the zodiac wich as already been mention.

A half-alien template that is psychic power focused, not the same as the aberrant template that I have also asked for as well.

A group of neutral outsiders who are focused on collecting knowledge with each type focused on a specific field like nature, history, science, magic, forbidden lore, mathematics, etc. Also they have special abilities that are related to there field of study.

A group of chaotic outsiders who like to use there powers to play games and mess with mortals for strange and unknown reasons. In other words there is a method to there madness. Also reality altering powers with themes based on games, toys, food, art, poems, riddles, books, etc.

Thankies. Amphicoelias seems obvious now, looking back. I made that list off the top of my head, but the biggest dino ever seems like it would be a good choice.

Where's our half-human template?

Gancanagh wrote:

He means templates that can be applied to any creature. Like take a gnome or goblin or kobold and then apply the half-elf template to it. :P

The problem with such a template would be, that it would be inconsistent with how half-orcs and half-elves work. Unless it's "erase all racial features of the base race except ability bonuses and base speed and add the following instead".
The existing half-creature templates just add stuff to the base race without taking anything, while the half-elf and half-orc race don't have the full features of either parent race, but instead bits of both.

Not trying to veto it, just pointing out a problem.

Talkign about half-templates, here is a wishlist point:

Expanded half-dragon template that allows for half imperial, primal and outer dragons as well as half-whatever-dragon-family-inevitably-will-be-in-bestiary-5-dragons.

I would also like an expanded half-dragon template and half-celestial one but those options would more then likely be in a different book like they did for half-fiends.

More non-undead stand-alone or themed templates!

The classic Half Celestial/Dragon/Fiend are awesome but i also love:

Though the pickings were slim for template lovers, bestiary 2's worms that walks is an absolut gem. Played with ideas for mummies, knucklebone men and junk monsters as well as just worms, its all round wonderful.

Bestiary 3 Fey creature template charmed me good, and thought it is an undead template i love the Graveknight for it is in my opinion part of the holy trinity of undead BBEG undead archetypes "Big Wizard undead"(lich) "Big warrior undead" and "Big intrigue undead"(Vampire). Guess which archetype the Graveknight is >:D.

All the templates from bestiary 4. Especially devil-bound, fungal and nightmare creatures, also divine guaridans and shadow. All of those templates let me play around with new creature ideas, each template is worth far more to me than sevral pages worth of normally presented creatures.

How would one call a creature that is a magical fox which has 9 tails and who doesn't have ANYTHING to do with that horrible shapeshifting Kitsune or other humanoid shapeshift fox thing?

Silver Fox, Gold Fox, Quicksilver Fox, I really have no clue...

Because all 9-tailed fox creatures are humanoid shapeshifters, there is never a creature (exept in pokemon and Lufia) that is just the 9-tailed fox, no humanoid forms attached.

I like such a creature most of all other creatures, but people keep telling me they should be shapeshifters for some unknown reason... like all minotaurs should be able to transform into a human form, what is wrong with just a 9 tailed fox creature?
There are tons of art about the fox form so why not exploid that.

Also I would like the Jack-in-Irons to be connected to the Kytons, maybe their creation, their protector or maybe just a creature that is attracted to places where Kytons rule and used as their bodyguard or torturer.

It could also be a breed of Kyton, a giant kyton.

Once again, nice list Wannabe Demon Lord.

There is a mini-bestiary in the Adventure Paths every month.

I would love to see a moogle analog along with mumba and a better carbuncle.

I'm pretty sure that he was asking for a 300+ page book here :P

Silver Crusade

I don't know if anyone has mentioned Black-Eyed Kids yet or not, but if not then they really should be mentioned. They are the only monster I have seen on the show Monsters and Mysteries in America that has actually managed to make my skin crawl. And I usually watch the show at 3 in the morning.I would also like to again repeat my request for planetouched races that are part psychopomp.

This website is where I found a whole lot off the list:

http://www.native-languages.org/monsters.htm

Here is a page on the very interesting Nalusa Falaya:http://demonhunterscompendium.blogspot.com/2012/12/nalusa-falaya.htm l

As for pictures of the rest, I'm largely interpreting these guys on description. I've never seen pictures of most.

Thanks! That is a very cool site indeed, love to read such sites!

Learned some new interesting things on the Aniwye or giant skunk on that site that are pretty interesting and which put it aside from the normal Giant Skunk.

Also this site told me Chenoo are just giants with frozen hearts... I liked your description of a stone-giant with a rhinoceros-like horn on its head much more!

Most bizarre monsters have a Final Fantasy monster of some sort in the google pictures, mostly copy-paste monsters tho...

I just ordered a monster book called Giants, Monsters, and Dragons: An Encyclopedia of Folklore, Legend, and Myth online, so i'm curious what new info (if there is info I don't know yet in there) I will learn from that book, if I learn new info I share it of course :-p

Dark Archive

I want to see Gilgamesh, chocobos and moogles (maybe a playable race?) from Final fantasy and the slimes from dragon quest

I have that book and it's pretty good...it's an encyclopedia though and most critters just get very short entries. Also no pictures really IIRC.

It's in another state at the moment, otherwise I would consult it more.

I would love to see a moogle but for copyright reasons it will not happen.

You can use an axebeak as a chocobo.

Gilgamesh is from myth so they could use him as a demigod or something though I doubt he will look the same.

I don't mind there aren't much pictures in it, I just ordered a few mythic/creature books because I want to make a book about mythology/folklore myself one day together with a good friend (who takes care of the spelling most of all because mine is rather chaotic and bad) so these books are gonna help me, i'm gonna find out what is missing in them and look at how they are made up and stuff like that.

So I don't really buy the book for the pictures this time. ;-)

But maybe there are fun creatures in there that aren't mentioned by Wannabe Demon Lord yet, if that is even possible! Hehe

I made this environment list some time ago, i've renamed some of the environments and cut some I really thought are the same as others and only added my truly favorite creatures of each of the monster manuals + AP monsters I really loved. Dark Archive

I now love axe beaks...

Well...I will caution that I bought the book before when the internet was much younger, and so the myth resources weren't quite there. At the time it was awesome, but I think a lot of people have taken that info and put it into Wikipedia/other sites, so not sure how much novel stuff is in there anymore.

It would be cool to see more intelligent oozes particularly a few good aligned ones, I mean we have few good aligned aberrations so why not.

Starting with giving them a better name.

The Acheri or Plague Child is also a child with pure black eyes, they are disease-spreaders so maybe they can be merged with the Black-eyed children, cuz something called Black-Eyed Child is a little bit off between all those other names like Aboleth, Chuul and Iron Golem.

After seeing the Disney movie Frozen(again!) I am in the mood for monsters made of snow. Maybe snow golems, intelligent good/evil snowmen, snow ooze, snow flake fey, blizzard beast, etc.

Yellow snow ooze...

...gross...
