Dear Selene,

If you had a character that you weren't attached to in your game as PC, but you didn't want to die just to make a new character, what else can you do besides tell them "My character is leaving."?

Depends on what you mean.

If you mean: are they announced as coming to PF2E in an upcoming product (or 3PP product)? Then, No, not yet, at least not that I could find.

If you mean: is there a demand for PF2E kitsune, then yes, I believe there is.

I wouldn't do it...one of tropes of shapeshifters like kitsune is they have heightened senses even in human form.

You can make a longer post here and share your veiws....

Well, first off, I find it interesting the way that they did away with point buy. All starting characters are now more or less equal in ability scores. Second, I find that giving hit points based on race / heritage in addition to class will help stop so many level 1 TPKs. Further I noticed that you cannot have extra spells based on having a high ability score. Not quite certain about that feature. Finally, I find it interesting that the identification of magic items is now based off of a skill instead of a spell.

More observations to come.

Yeah added the fact that on how ancestries work in PF2E kitsune would be very hard to do well and meeting people's expectations of what kitsune are.

It is the shapeshifting...for some reason game designers overrate the agility.


Kitsune should have their own ancestry, since I don't remember them coming from any other race in any of the folktales that I've read.

Yes....that way the character exit could serve the campaign.

But...I actually allow you to wait till 14th to do so...I can find that to be a obnoxious reasoning...

I love you and all but if you are not happy playing character...stop and play a new one...don't wait for there to be mechanical reason to do so.

Nope. The Fibonacci Sequence is the series of numbers: 0, 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21, 34, ... The next number is found by adding up the two numbers before it.

So ... 21+34 = 55.

The Fibonacci sequence reflects patterns of growth spirals found in nature. That doesn't make it important as such it just makes it a natural phenomenon, like seeing ripples in a pond or noticing the five-fold pattern of digits at the ends of each of our limbs. There is an underlying geometry in the evolution of living things.

As to my question about AtAT:
When the heroes finish, they will only be 7th level. Hardly the end of their careers.

Aside from the obvious, how would one continue the campaign with these characters?

True. The way all the equipment progression is handled is my biggest single problem with the game. :( Making the bonus progression a property of the characters would have been a much better simulation of the genre and allowed for a greater variety in equipment. (The saved space could have been used for more detail on non-starship vehicles too.)

It is what has sent me looking for alternative systems for a Space Opera campaign (including, ironically, PF1E).

No. Hard to build a boat or motorcycle that way.
