DC to create Magical Weapon or Armor

Rules Questions

Howdy. I can't seem to find how to figure/calculate the DC for crafting a magical weapon or armor. I can figure out the DC for a special property easy enough, but what's the DC of a basic +# bonus?

The same as it is for all magic items. 5 + caster level.

A magical weapon requires a caster level equal to 3x its enhancement bonus. So a +1 sword has a caster level of 3, and a +5 sword has a caster level of 15. Armor is the same way.

Ahh. I didn't think of the 3x requirement as it's caster level. Thanks!

the thing is if you are 4th caster level and trying to make a +2 armor or weapon you will need to add an extra +5 because you are not 6th caster level so it becomes +5 bast +6 caster level +5 increased dc for not meeting the caster level so a +2 something is DC 16

But if you were 6th level it would be DC 11

Well, just to nitpick. If you're a 4th level caster trying to create magical arms and armor, you're destined to fail regardless of the enhancement bonus. You have to be caster level 5th to even take the feat.

That said, yes, that's correct. If you don't meet the 3x level requirement, you add +5 to the DC. Unless there's a ruling around that I didn't see.
