How would you handle tackling to the ground?

Rules Questions

So, let's say you want to charge a guy and just take him to the ground and still hold on to the sucker. How would I do it? It feels like it would be half-way between the Trip and Grapple maneuver, but neither adequately cover it.

Grand Lodge

Move, then grapple.

Dark Archive

Grapple, then pin.

Pin.

You get someone prone and grappled in one turn without:
combat expertise
improved unarmed strike
improved trip
ki throw
improved grapple
binding throw

It's like the designers have never in their life seen a Judo match or something. It may not be trivial, but it's not something that should take a 6 feat chain. Ki throw sans binding throw is, from what I remember of my brief experience with Judo, a a neophyte performing a throw incorrectly.

I'd say that if you beat the targets CMD by 5 or more, you can pull him down as you grapple him and leave you both prone. That feels on par with the Overrun maneuver.

lesse... charge... + grapple/pin + trip... probably bonuses and penalties spread throughout...

I like Benchak's idea.
I think you could go for the Tetori Monk who gets Grab, and mix Grab and Trip into a Full Attack.
Or if the you get the Trip Feat that grants an extra AoO, use it's AoO for a UAS/Grab, after a Charge/Trip.
Or you can get Tripping Crit (or whatever it's called) and hope you Crit on the Grapple.
(I guess it's controversial if CMBs can Crit or not, as attack rolls I don't see why not, but full disclosure and all)
Anything that can get you an extra attack could possibly enable Grapple + Trip.
