Dragon Disciple & spells.

Advice

Is there anyway to off-set spell caster levels by Dragon Disciple?

Any handy tips and tricks that fit the class really well, such as items or feats, the character is 10th level gestalt with alchemist on the other side, so I have a steady income of claws/bite and breath weapons from there. He'll be basically downing mutagens to become more dragonic, and using bombs as breath weapons.

magical knack trait.

You are gestalted with Alchemist and still want more spells for your Sorcerer levels?

Doesn't it just give up to two caster level, for such as duration and damage. I don't actually get the spells known and max spell level as normal, do I?

Dragon Disciple does add to Spells Cast, Spells Known (for a spontaneous caster), and Caster Level, at every DD level except 1st, 5th, and 9th -- for one arcane class. So you will presumably need to choose whether the class that continues to improve is Alchemist or Sorcerer. Combine that with Magical Knack and you won't be very far behind at all.

I'd pick for DD to add to the sorcerer class, and with Magical Knack I'd have caster level 10(minus 1st and 5th), but have spell slots and spells known as a level 8th sorcerer, since Magical Knack only adds caster level, yeah?

Correct. Also, DD advances all your bloodline powers.

That I was aware of. Think I'm mixing in some 3.5 memory of Practiced Spellcaster or what's it name, allowing a caster to keep spell slot/spells known for four levels. Or something like that.

Practiced Spellcaster did the exact same thing as the Magical Knack trait does. Essentially for spell effects, it counts as two levels higher. Doesnt get you any new spells, doesnt add to spells per day.

Well, except Practiced Spellcaster was +4 caster level instead of +2 as per Magical Knack.

Ah, just missremembering it then.

Tangential issue:
pH, you said that Corvo needs to "choose whether the class that continues to improve is Alchemist or Sorcerer". Alchemists do not have access to arcane spellcasting. In fact, they don't do any spellcasting. Therefore, it makes little sense to advance an Alchemists arcane spellcasting.
