Anyone at Goblinworks expected to do an AMA anytime soon?

I check the boards at Reddit, Massively, TenTonHammer and other game sites fairly often, and there are a few consistent PFO boosters on the threads there (Paladuso2 on Reddit, Vaeris on Massively, I am on both occasionally). There really isn't much activity on those boards for Pathfinder Online. Comments are generally positive and some interaction by the GW folks might get even more interest. I know Ryan is a marketing guy and knows more about this than most any of us fellow posters, but I think it's time for some community outreach, especially since the Fulfillment Period will be coming up soon. Thoughts?

I had to google AMA :) Anyway, sounds like a good idea. Ryan was on a Google hangout once and it was good in a general, get out the message kind of way. This might be better in a more specific way.

The American Medical Association is interested in Pathfinder?

Okay, I'm impressed.

What does AMA stand for?
Alleenstaande Minderjarige Asielzoekers (Dutch: Unaccompanied Minor Asylum Seekers)

On Reddit, possibly others as well, I just know if from there, when people offer themselves up for questioning in a given field or subject they sometimes say, "I am a fireman, ask me anything!"

I've seen "AMA" refer to both...

I am a fireman, ask me anything!

or...

I am a fireman, ask me anything!

Basically it's an opportunity for Ryan to present himself to fans as a way to build interest and answer questions from the community.

Sorry. Should have spelled it...Ask Me Anything. But it would be a great way to get the word out...and stir up some additional interest on the different boards.

Ryan has done a few interviews...one in January on Massively. And there were a few Kickstarter Shorts in December. Ryan doesn't have to do them all. There are lots of talented people working on PFO...Lee Hammock, Stephen Cheney, Mark Hines to name a few. But when the Fulfillment Period starts an AMA might help get a lot more interest in the new subscriber category. A lot has happened in the last couple of months.

I'm not sure we'd get anyone who isn't already active on these boards. Closer to Early Enrollment we might draw a crowd.

I'm not so sure. There is some decent interest on the boards at Massively. PFO gets some positive comments and it might stir a little more interest from the writers there as well. Massively was just criticized a little in their last post because they seem to be giving Mark Jacobs some love at CityState, and Camelot Unchained is just getting started, so some of the commenters were thumping the writers for not covering PFO as well.

Reddit has a good audience too, but the Pathfinder Online Reddit doesn't have much activity. Just a thought. There seems to be a lack of new MMOs on the short list and it might fire up the boards a bit.

Still too early in dev. An AMA off the back of, something that raises eyebrows in the mmorpg-interested sections, then that is timely imo: Those dots need connecting! :)

I've been really happy with the amount of posting Ryan has done here on the Paizo forums for the past week or two.

I liked seeing some of the new Goblins post in the relevant blog threads and introduce themselves, too.

I appreciate the time you take to engage with us!

Doing it closer to EE also has the benefit of having a working software in place so they are more likely to have answers that are closer to the game we are going to play rather then stuff on paper.

I agree, too much advertising this far out is not going to benefit GW or us as a community.

I have also, never heard of AMA, and it does not look like a direct link to gaming anyway. Ten Ton Hammer, MMORPG and others are more appropriate.

AVOID G4TV!!! They always trash MMOs, unless they are Blizzard or Bioware. They only play the beta, if that, and then write a review and never update it.

I have actually read a review by someone who clearly, never played the game, and trashed it.

I would say reddit is very much a gaming community, even though gaming isn't it's sole focus.
