Liberty's Edge

Just felt posting a thread to see how many other people that frequent the forums happen to be deployed.

So, any other die-rolling war-fighters fighting the good fight?

Just a suggestion - this might be more appropriate for the Gamer Talk/Gamer Life forum.

Ah... Well now I feel super smart.

Bored? War never changes.

I hear there have been a few servicemen on. Good luck.

Do you have a group of players where you are deployed?

Liberty's Edge

I have 1 player, but we are on different shifts. I considered an online game, however I move around too often to have any reliable internet access. Either way, I have been building characters, pouring over RotR to run when I get back, and been keeping busy. Just was curious about how many people are in the same position as I am and what they have been doing to get their PF fix. BTW, for those that are like me and don't have a group around, the novels have been awesome to pass the time.

I haven't been in the service for quite a few years, but I have great memories of playing D&D with a few guys from my unit.

Stay safe soldier.

I'm deployed spend most my free time figuring a huge dungeon crawl to run when I get back

Will the fellow guys in your unit be npcs?

Silver Crusade

Hang in there man! I was through have my deployment before I realized about six or seven guys in my unit were gamers. What I learned is, don't be afraid to put it out there you might be suprised how many others are interested.

I tried to do a play by web cam game with my group stateside, but time differences and scheduling problems killed that fast.

Soldiers are willing to do anything to pass the time, so I convinced several to give RPGing a shot. Lead to some interesting situations, as I was the GM and one of my players was my first line leader!

Good luck and come home safe. Thanks for your service.

A lot of my friends I game with or have gamed with have been deployed soldiers. :) I know that pbps can help pass the time if you lack a bunch of tangible players, but hot places and a lack of internet access can kill, I know...
Or just the former. Laptops heat up like the dickens.
Stay safe!

Not any more, but I did get a pretty chill tour where we were in one place the whole time. The Shackled City campaign there was good times and good memories.
