I've made several versions of Marvel characters and am currently working on making Angel/Archangel. I'm pretty well decided on Strix for my race (not a PFS build), but not sure on how "skillful" Angel/Archangel is. Should I go with a rogue archetype that allows him 8+Int for skills or would a fighter archetype (airborne ambusher) be suitable with the 2+Int?

I'd say skills are not something very used in his character.
I see him more like a martial character, his class can change from a story arc to another
When using apocalipse's powerup (Death) he's a fighter or maibe antipaladin
In the story arcs when he discovers his secondary mutation (healing blood) he's very similar to a paladin
A "skillful" angel would be a lot more like Gambit, Nightcrawler or maibe Beast, but as far as i can say, the character only needs Fly and Diplomacy to be faithful to himself (maibe knowledge: royalty to reflect his knowledge of high society?)

Yeah, you almost absolutely have to get the 'Metallic Wings' feat...
And you can be whatever race you want and take that feat that Racial Heritage feat that let's you qualify as a member of another race (like Aasimar) for purposes of feats and magic items, I believe. You could then take the Aasimar winged feats until you got metal. I'd be looking to add some fighter levels onto the character to compensate for that feat investment, but also, Angel was a fighter (albeit a weak one) in the XMen.
Once he became Archangel, he became physically average instead of so weak. He's an entirely physical character. I'd argue he's either a fighter or ranger with some levels of rogue. The new Angel is actually an Omega level Mutant with healing powers and some other bullcrap. This suggests he might be a Paladin (lay on hands) or Ranger (they get a healing spell right?).
If trying to represent his 'Archangel' side, that should be expressed through something like feat abuse (yay, Fighter) and perhaps demonic bargains/pacts, or if you must, rogue/ninja levels.
However you slice it, the character has that 'angelic blood' so should be getting the Aasimar winged stuff- seriously. And you can't rightfully claim to model him after Archangel if he never gets those metal wings...I mean, the feat tree to build his core is RIGHT THERE...angel blood, angel wings...metallic wings...
For story purposes, you can argue he was in training or hadn't hit his mutant power yet until the wings grew. If waiting for 7th level or so is time consuming, then it is a perfect opportunity to represent the role play elements until he can actually get those wings and fly. And one he can, you can quickly get that power taken away by an evil, purple lipped bad guy who cuts them off and gives you metal ones. The game should be getting epic by then anyway, right? :)

On a related side note:
Our group considered playing the 'Revengers'
With
Captain Freeport (shield throw, shield fighter, Paladin etc)
Roar (Weather domain cleric, storm caller/fighter Tripping Axe throw(or hammer user)).
The Bulk (Barbarian half orc with that orc bloodline via eldritch heritage, probably some levels in brawler for an unarmed fighting option).
Sure Shot (Ranger/Fighter, human or elf, multiclass options like arcane archer make a lot of sense here).
Widow of the Night (Human Martial Artist Monk/Gunslinger) (Female).
Mystic Man (Synthesist Summoner).
Got to love making super hero's. I already ran Batman once in 3.5. TWF Monkey griped falchion using fighter/ranger/rogue I called 'The Gargoyle'.
So much fun.

All very interesting input. Strix airborne ambusher (fighter) seems to fit the bill, albeit they don't get metallic wings. If I were to use an Aasimar build, the feat progression would be Angelic Blood, Angelic Flesh (Steel; to give him the blue-ish appearance), Angel Wings, and Metallic Wings. Though I thought that build would be a Knife Master (rogue). Exchange Archangel's metal shards with daggers and that archetype deals d8's on dagger-esqe weapons, though it takes a hit on all other sneak attack damage dropping it to d4's. I do agree that Fighter seems to represent him during many of his story arcs.

Also an option is to drop the Aasimar daylight power for the 20 ft flight speed (poor manueverability) on the variant ability chart from Blood of Angels (number 99). Normally I wouldn't allow anyone to pick and choose powers from the chart, but when it is for a pre-determined concept (and the variant isn't a stat boost) I allow it.
That would allow you to be both an aasimar and fly from level one.

After a good bit of research and much help from all of ya'll's comments, I think I have it. Aasimar Shapeshifter Ranger taking the alternate racial trait Grey Lensman suggested and Deathless Spirit. I would using the Form of the Eagle shifter blessing primarily. In Ultimate X-Men, Angel took on a more avian appearance. Thanks guys!

Not the entire goal I was looking for, just making a nod to that particular story arc. As for the other characters, let me guess...
(Psion) Jean Grey / Professor Charles Xavier
(Warlock) Cyclops?
(Winter Witch) Iceman / Storm
(1/2-Orc Monk with an insane Int score) Beast
*Edit: What is the name of that particular racial trait that exchanges daylight for flight?

it doesnt have a name, its part of a huge list of variant abilities that are on a d100 chart, im pretty sure wings are option 99, and option 100 is getting another ability, on that list includes 6 different stat bumps (each is +2 for different stats) sonic resistance 5, SR, other SLA's, and some other goofy things like using your CHA instead of CON to determine how many rounds you can hold your breath.....

I was going for the Kirby Five actually.
