Didn't see this one coming.

episode 1:
The Miniseries is about a US submarine that has apparently received an authenticated message on the wrong line...after a coup removing the captain the sub is fired on by one of its own navy ships it decides to launch a trident at Washington and transmits a message declaring that the US has fabricated an attack on the sub by Pakistan and have launched nukes at targets inside Pakistan in retaliation. So as the Captain - returned to control of the boat declares himself overlord of the local island and the NATO listening post on the island the episode ends...Frankly I think I would have let the Nuke hit Washington and broadcast a message informing the world that Washington has fallen to a nut job in some coup who has fabricated a conflict with Pakistan and authorize the remaining states to establish a council to oversee the US - and the arrest of anyone loyal to that coup.

looks entertaining.

I thought this show was already cancelled?

Also I thought it was a SHOW and not a mini series...

It apparently runs 13 episodes and ends with the Assassination of the President in episode 13.

Good job spoiling that.

Go read Wiki...then it will really be spoiled.

Ive watched about 7 or 8 episodes and while it started off great it just became beyond unrealistic. There is no way a sub on the run would ever come topside for more than a couple of minutes or especially just park at an island (many times you can see the sub just sitting in the harbor) while the entire world is trying to sink or capture you. The captain and most of the crew spend a majority of their time on the island well away from the sub. Which is their only true refuge as proven by episode one. The only thing keeping the US from dropping a bomb on the sub/island is the threat of a nuke headed towards DC again. Which cant happen in the 15-20 minutes (more than fare estimate) it would take to get back in the sub and bring up a firing solution. It just became silly, IMHO anyways.

You are correct on both accounts:

- it is indeed a show, not a mini-series
- and yeah, it got cancelled.

This was a weird thread... did it suddenly become 6 months ago? :D

Actually if you haven't worked out that the President of the United States is going to be assassinated in this series by the end of episode One, you need to lift your game. The ass arranged a false flag incident and launched two nukes at Pakistan. Of course he was going to die for his crime.
