I have never played in a PFS game at a con before. At GenCon I’d like to join a few games to get in on the experience. I run the scenarios all the time for my home game so I’m very familiar with how it works, but when I go to the con I’d like the challenge of playing whatever is needed to the best of my ability for that game – role and all. The Player’s Guide says:
Chapter 2 of the present guidebook contains step-by-step instructions to help you create your official Pathfinder Society character. Unless you plan to select an official pregenerated character, read these rules carefully, as they contain a few adaptations to ensure that characters are suitable for the organized play environment.
So should I assume that con GM’s have pregenerated PCs for their games available? Many thanks, can’t wait to throw dice with some of you!

The pregens at Gen Con are the same ones you can download from the Paizo site.
However, I think you'll find that the experience is better if you create your own character.

If you have already run some of the scenairos at your home game were any of them tied to the adventure path series Shattered Star or Rise of the Rune Lord?? If so you should get your group to regesiter on paizo and try running them through the different options on doing Modules for credit. This also covered in the Society Guide Download.
It goes one of two ways: You can play a normal character through the AP and the players and yourself get a chroincle sheet or you can just run the the specific section of the adventure(their is alist of what the dungeons are) with a PFS Legal Character and get credit that way. Hope this helps get you in the Gen-Con Mood even more!! :D

I have run many scenarios from all the seasons for my group. After years of trying to get them to register still no luck. Can't tell if its the paperwork or what. Still, I keep trying.
I found the PFS character creation guide. I will indeed consider creating my own character. I have to admit sometimes I get a kick out of the challenge of dropping into a character handed to me But I think I will create one and bring it along to try.
