Campaign Journals


Soooo. First, I must apologize to those who were following my Aceraks rise campaign. I started dating a girl, and my finances also stopped allowing me to continue with that game, and the fact that English was a second language for three of my six players, it ended. The German and the Aussie are heading up the group, which has multiple campaigns going on now.

I am almost married, and am putting together in Golarion setting, a Band of Brothers, Zombie Apocalypse Campaign. But I could use some assistance in designing.

I am already putting together a draft letter/packet to hand the players, which will imclude house rules and campaign background.

They will be starting in bootcamp, as draftees into the Andoran Military. Then I will be shipping them up to the northern border, I think. I am thinking a death cult from ustalav has managed to sneak necromancers to raise zombie armies, and thus overthrow Lastwall.

And my phone needs charging, so I will post again when I can.

So the list of house rules that I use are as follows:
Armor bonus goes to DR/adamantine or magic. Not ac.
So full plate is 8dr. Shields are ac.
Nat armor is halved, and goes to dr. Mage armor is dr, not ac.
Basic Defense Bonus.
Classes with best BAB get 3/4 BDB. Same with classes with good reflex.
Classes with both, aka ranger, gets, 1/1 BDB.
Classes with neither get.1/2BDB.
Called shots are allowed. At a minus four, unless you have precise shot, which makes it a minus 1.
I give my players the option, either they can group roll their attributes, or they can point build their characters. If they point build, they start with thirteens, with strength and dexterity in group 1, constitution and intelligence are group 2, and wisdom and charisma are group 3. You start with thirteens down the board, and can, one fo one , swap inside the group, but outside the group costs you two for one. So you could bump your str to15, which would reduce your dex to eleven, and bump your con up to sixteen, while killing your wisdom down to a seven, or wisdom and charisma both to tens.
For all spells spell like abilities, and magic items, the damage/heal die is one die code smaller. So magic missile is 1d3+1, fireball is d4's.
HP is you get max at level one, but after that if you are d6 you get 1 plus con mod every level, d8 is 2, d10 is 3, and d12 is 4. With the minimum gained being zero.


Campaign backstory.
Ustalav has fell silent. Lastwall sends scouts to determine whats happened. None come back. They send an adventuring party, one returns, but injured. Shortly thereafter, Lastwall citizens are seen fleeing in mass exodus from lastwall, and with them came stories of the dead returning to life, and attacking loved ones. Andoran and Taldor create an alliance and begin preparations for war. You, a loyal child of Andoran, have been called upon to fight the menace that is heading to devour your homeland.

Special Abilities

Moan:(Su) Zombies, upon seeing a living creature, moans, alerting other Zombies to its location. This sound also causes fear (DC12) in all living creatures within 60ft. The DC increases by 1 every 20ft closer the creature is to the Zombie.

Infect(Ex) Upon a successful bite attack, the zombie infects its victim with the zombie virus. Fort save 15 or lose 1 CON. A new save must be rolled every hour. Each failed save is another point of Permanent CON drain. Upon death, the victim will return as a Zombie in a number of minutes equal to his original CON score.

(Optional: The DM may, at the cost of his man card, allow the victim at the time of the bite to make a single FORT DC.15 check, to resist infestation.)

Thanks, but that is only the first half of the stat block. And i have to describe their lifespan too. But my phone is not capable of handling that much.


Zombies are eternally starving for the brains of sentient creatures. They always attack by attempting to grapple, and then they try to bite you.
A newly risen Zombie has the aforementioned mentioned atts, regardless off what kind of humanoid it was. It does recieve any racial modifiers to str and dex.

Each brain consumed, is worth 100 times character level of victim in xp earned. Each time a Zombie gains a level, they get +2(+plus CHA mod), and they gain mental as per the level achieved.

This is Just the Preliminary. The Idea is that as they consume the flesh, they gain a small amount of power from it, not just sustenance, and so they eventually become sentient, and can lead Hordes of Zombies.
