Will there be a soft cover at some point?

Is this included as part of the subscription? Or is it a separate purchase?

They almost always make a soft cover version but it is much later after the hard cover. I always buy hard covers if available due to much higher quality and durability. Usually only $5 difference in price.

If it's only a five dollar difference, I'll probably get the hard cover too. Thanks btw!

Vic mentioned (somewhere or other) that it will be an "opt-in" item. So you'll have to order it separately, but if you're an active subscriber (ie you have an ongoing comics subscription and have received the previous or concurrent issue, you'll get the full 20% subscriber discount).

Webstore Gninja Minion

Not part of the subscription, but there will be a discount for subscribers—just want to make sure that the tech side of things is good before I adjust the product description!

Any chance Ivan Anaya is the next artist for the comic?

His test page on his DeviantArt gallery is excellent!

I'm told there will likely be a softcover. I've also been told that the hardcover will have a larger page size than the individual issues, while the softcover (if it happens) will use the smaller page size. (I think it's something like 7.5" x 11" for the hardcover vs. 6.75" x 10.25" for the individual issues and softcover.)

Jake Bilbao will be the artist when the next story arc begins in issue 7.

Scarab Sages

Does this include the poster maps from the individual issues? Sounds like it does include the other RPG content, and has a new amp, but doesn't mention the old maps.

Paizo Employee Chief Technical Officer

I believe that it does not contain the poster/maps.

Scarab Sages

Thanks, Vic!

TPB is the way I normally get my comics. glad to see this is getting the treatment. It's going to be a purchase for me.

Preordered.

I don't know if I missed it or not, but what is the page count on this product?

Liberty's Edge RPG Superstar 2008 Top 32, 2011 Top 16

Good news - I'll likely buy in this format.

Early on I asked if there would be a trade paperback. The answer I got from Vic Wertz or Eric Mona (I don't remember which), was that subscribing is the best way to ensure that a Trade Paperback happens.

When I found out that it only costs a few bucks an issue, and I get poster maps as part of each issue, I was more excited.

Seeing that all the extra setting and encounter info is IN the Hardcover Trade "Paperback," makes me even more excited because it means that I have all that info in one place and I can store all the little battlemaps in a handy pocket on the big hardcover book.

Hardcover Book Handy Pocket:
To make a "handy pocket" on hardcover books, I use a brown paper bag from the grocery store to make a nice tight book cover. The same book cover I put on all my textbooks in high school. The inside flap makes a great pocket for holding maps that were "glued" or "stickyed" into a book, but had to be removed for use.

Could have picked a title that isn't already a good Pathfinder adventure...

It was solicited at 160 pages—but that's not a guarantee it won't change before April!

New material not present in the individual comics: bonus story and the map? Am I correct?

Thank you.

To the best of my knowledge.

So can we get a confirmation on if this excludes stuff from the comics themselves? I'm not made of money, so TPBs are the way to go for me. I just don't want to be missing out on anything cool because I waited so long to get this instead of the individual comics

How many different covers will this have? :P * ducks *

The collection does not include the poster/map inserts from the original comics.

Looking like 224 pages at present. Plus a new poster of the Sandpoint environs and all of the game content and alternate covers.

Plus a new 10-page story, "The Last Mosswood Goblin," by Jim Zub!

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Question:
I'm sure that the comic will not be available digitally, since that is sold elsewhere by Dynamite Comics (if I remember correctly). However, would it be possible for subscribers to recieve a digital copy of the GAMING Material only?

Indeed, and thanks for the compliment. To add to the confusion, the adventure is now available for sale in print or pdf here on Paizo's site.

Sorry for the confusion, but if it convinces anyone to look at my highly-rated adventure for Raging Swan, all the better! :)

So...if I buy the comics already. What do I gain from this that I don't already have?

Just from reading the product description and the thread, I'd say a new ten page story ("The Last Mosswood Goblin") and a poster map of the Sandpoint region.

I know of a few hardcover Comic compilations that have an art gallery in the back of them (concept art, storyboards, and cover images, etc) and I was just wondering if this would have something like that? Specifically the collection of the various covers of the individual issues, was wanting to know before I went and bought each of the older issues or if I should just wait on this puppy. :3

I've heard there is a cover gallery, but I don't know if it includes *all* of the variant covers or not.

Liberty's Edge

To be clear: the "brand-new poster map of the region explored in the Pathfinder comic" is not meant for tactical combat, with a 1" grid, right? (I'm trying to collect those; indeed it's the main reason I subscribe to the comic!) Instead, it'll be a regional map with a much larger scale, right?

Thanks.

I hear that Dynamite is putting out a separate volume that is a gallery of all the variant covers.

This volume will come with 120 collectible covers.

No, not inside the book, there are 120 variant covers for the art book.

None of the variant covers for the art book are included in the actual contents of the art book.

Right, this is NOT a tactical map, but rather a regional map of the Sandpoint region.

Will this be available in pdf? A number of years ago I switched from individual comics to TPBs, but now I find myself switching from TPBs to digital...

Webstore Gninja Minion

Uninvited Ghost, I know that digital versions of the Pathfinder Comic are available on Comixology, but I don't know if there is going to be a collected version.

So other than through Comixology, there are no plans for digital versions of the comics, I take it.

I'm not currently aware of any, but the future can hold a great many things!

To be clear about that, Dynamite is the publisher, and they determine how and where their comics are distributed, not Paizo.

PERFECT and AWESOME book!!! Completely LAME and super tiny map. For the price, they should have made that map BIG and amazing.
