Acrobatics to avoid AttackofOpp while wearing mithral medium armor

Rules Questions

Acrobatics on the Prd reads(emphasis mine):

Quote:
In addition, you can move through a threatened square without provoking an attack of opportunity from an enemy by using Acrobatics. When moving in this way, you move at half speed. You can move at full speed by increasing the DC of the check by 10. You cannot use Acrobatics to move past foes if your speed is reduced due to carrying a medium or heavy load or wearing medium or heavy armor. If an ability allows you to move at full speed under such conditions, you can use Acrobatics to move past foes. You can use Acrobatics in this way while prone, but doing so requires a full-round action to move 5 feet, and the DC is increased by 5. If you attempt to move though an enemy's space and fail the check, you lose the move action and provoke an attack of opportunity.

Armor made of Mithral on the PRD reads:

Quote:
Mithral: Mithral is a very rare silvery, glistening metal that is lighter than steel but just as hard. When worked like steel, it becomes a wonderful material from which to create armor, and is occasionally used for other items as well. Most mithral armors are one category lighter than normal for purposes of movement and other limitations. Heavy armors are treated as medium, and medium armors are treated as light, but light armors are still treated as light. This decrease does not apply to proficiency in wearing the armor. A character wearing mithral full plate must be proficient in wearing heavy armor to avoid adding the armor's check penalty to all his attack rolls and skill checks that involve moving. Spell failure chances for armors and shields made from mithral are decreased by 10%, maximum Dexterity bonuses are increased by 2, and armor check penalties are decreased by 3 (to a minimum of 0).

Question: Can a character wearing a Mithral Breastplate(Medium armor) use acrobatics to avoid an attack of opportunity?

Also, what does "under such conditions" refer to?

The "under such conditions" part is referring to the condition of carrying a medium or heavy load or wearing medium or heavy armor. Two examples that come to mind are Dwarves (move at full speed regardless of armor) and Fighters (Armor Training eventually lets them move at full speed in medium and heavy armor) both retain the ability to use Acrobatics to move past foes, even when wearing medium or heavy armor.

As far as the Mithral Breastplate goes...

Since the medium armor is treated as light, it would not reduce your speed, and therefore not prevent you from using Acrobatics to move past foes.

Dark Archive

Yes you can. Similarly, a level 7 fighter can tumble in full plate, and a dwarf can tumble in whatever armour you like.

So the only requirement to acro to avoid AoOs is not having your base speed reduced?

Well, specifically it says if your base speed is reduced due to carrying a medium/heavy load or wearing medium/heavy armor. Any other effects that reduce base speed shouldn't affect it, unless they specifically state otherwise.

Dark Archive

As far as I can tell, yes. However, if someone wants to correct me, they are welcome to do so.

Dwarfs are acrobatic dudes.

Dark Archive

Dwarves are short and round. They roll well.
