Important: Mark of Awesome and Crowdforger Guilds

Will CFGs get 6 links to share since there are six accounts? Or does the Mark of Awesome effect trickle down to all game accounts generated by the KS pledge (all 6 accounts for a CFG) once that $500 pledge has selected a Shieldmate? Or (heaven forbid) will only the person who pledged $500 get to have a Mark of Awesome and the other 5 are left to their own devices?

I ask because we are organizing ~4 CFGs, pretty much our entire team of players, and would hate to see a missed opportunity to get Marks of Awesome for everyone who has been so incredibly supportive of this Kickstarter since the early days.

CFG gets 6 of everything except add ons and the guild starter pack.

Im not sure what a mark of awesome is though. Add-ons are per account so if you want every one in the CFG to say have the title you need to add 60 to your pledge.

Mark of Awesome = Shieldmate Mark

In addition, your friend will be awarded all the Daily Deals as of the date you first pledged to back the Kickstarter. Each backer will only be able to invite one Friend and accept one invitation, which will be permanent (but you can change your invite if your friend request is denied).

The Shieldmate/Mark of Awesome upgrade is not an add-on. It is something that will be available to everyone once the KS ends. According to the Kickstarter, you connect two KS pledges together (so my $500 CFG pledge and my friend's $100 Pioneer pledge) and you become 'Shieldmates', each of you gets the Mark of Awesome.

It says 'Characters on your KS accounts get the Mark of Awesome'. I'm guessing this applies to all characters from all game accounts stemming from those KS accounts. So characters from all 6 game accounts generated by one CFG pledge + whatever game accounts are generated by the Shieldmated KS account will get the Mark of Awesome.

But I wanted confirmation from GW that I am interpreting this correctly because it is definitely not something to miss out on.

@All - Buddy and Guild rewards include multiple accounts (2x and 6x). You'll be able to allocate those accounts after the Kickstarter ends (and you'll have all the time you need, there's no rush). Accounts will link together with an offer/acceptance mechanism to grant the Shieldmate Mark.

That's great, thanks Ryan. So, if I'm understanding correctly, someone with a Buddy pledge will get two accounts (one for him and one for a friend) and they can Shieldmate them together to get Marks for all characters on each?

Or do you need 2 distinct Buddy level pledges to make this work (so that there will be 4 PfO in-game accounts with Marks of Awesome)?

CEO, Goblinworks

@Beilian Trask - If you pledge at the Buddy level, that will create two accounts. You will be able to assign those accounts as you wish. Those accounts can invite/accept a Friend link and they'll get the Shieldmate Mark.

Fantastic; question solved. Thanks for your patience, Ryan.

Does this limit you to a single shieldmate?

In other words, is it that you may either send an invitation, or accept one, or is it that you may do both? (Thus enabling you to have two shieldmates, the one who sent you an invitation, and the one you sent to another person. I believe in a Guild pledge this would allow you to actually have all six accounts linked to each other, though I haven't done the math.)

I don't think it matters who you give the Shieldmate to when it comes to the party, only that you have the mark.

I found this kickstarter late and would Love for someone with ALL the daily deals to send me a Shieldmate invite. Please message me here or contact me at pstyle151@sbcglobal.net.

Edit:Hopefully have one lined up Thank You

@Keign - You can either send or accept an invitation, not both.

Are the shieldmate mark benefits only between the specific accounts it was created with respect towards, or do they apply whenever characters from an account with a shieldmark get together?

CEO, Goblinworks

@DeciusBrutus - If an account has the friendship connection, any character on that account will have the Shieldmate Mark.

I don't understand that post. Sorry, Mr. Dancey. Perhaps this is a clearer example:

A and B are shieldmates due to A inviting B.

X and Y are shieldmates due to X inviting Y.

Clearly when A and B (or X and Y) travel together they get the extra benefit. Will B and Y travelling together get that same benefit?

Goblinworks Executive Founder

@Drakhan- That was my question. Thank you for parsing it better than I did.

The writeup says that everyone in a group with the shield mate mark will get a synergy bonus... has nothing to do with whether you invited that particular person or not. If you invited or were invited then you have the mark... and grouping with ANYONE else who has the mark gives you the benefit.

@David - You cannot round-robin the Shieldmate links. A-B-C is not OK. It's just A-B. But if A, B and C all had Shieldmate status and they're in a group together, they'll all get the synergy.

Looks like yes, B and Y should get it - though I'm not sure, since A & B were both included in this example.

I'm curious if it's best to set up a sort of loop to include multiple people.

A > B > C > D > E > F > A

That way A-F all get synergy for being in a group. Though I guess just pairing people off would work.

@Drakhan asked the big question I was curious about though. As much as the writeup says, it leaves room for misinterpretation on that point.

Goblin Squad Member

I would like this clarified a little bit further.
If someone pledges at the Crowdforger Guild level are they assumed to be shieldmates already? If so, will each of the 6 accounts get the option to shieldmate someone else?

CEO, Goblinworks

@All - Let me be crystal clear.

If you get a Buddy or Guild Reward, you will get multiple Pathfinder Online Accounts. For the purpose of this post, I am referring to Pathfinder Online Accounts not Kickstarter accounts.

Each account can issue a friendship invite, or accept one, not both.

You cannot round-robin invites. A-B-C-A is not OK. Only A-B.

Every character you create with an Account that is a part of this promotion will have the Shieldmate Mark.

Any time two or more characters with the Shieldmate Mark are in a party, all of the characters with the Shieldmate Mark get a synergy bonus.

Clear?

As the Caribbean Sea. Thank you, Mr. Dancey.

Goblin Squad Member

@Ryan I believe I understand but let me ask just to make sure.

If I am person C and I do not send a friendship invite to say person D I will NOT get the synergy bonus if I am group with person A or B, correct or not?

Goblin Squad Member

@Diella: What Ryan is saying is that you can only buddy up in 2's. If A and B buddy up and you are C and buddy up with D, so the buddies are A-B and C-D, then if A and C group they will both get the synergy. The Shieldmate Mark is a boolean, all or nothing thing, it's either on or off - you either have the mark or you don't. Who you're buddied with doesn't make a difference, if you group with anyone else with the mark you and that person will get the synergy bonus.

CEO, Goblinworks

@Diella - If you do not extend an invitation to another account that is accepted, or receive an invitation that you accept from another account, no character on your account will have the Shieldmate Mark.
