Region / nation for Catfolk

Lost Omens Campaign Setting General Discussion

Hi,

I wish to introduce catfolk in my Golarion campaigns and I wonder where they come from. Does someone know about source stating them coming from a particular region or nation or saying there is a small group living near city x or wood y?

Alternatively, if no canon exist yet on this subject, I'm open to look at suggestions.

Thanks!

Felines in and of themselves tend to live in a variety of places; jungles, forest, swamps, mountains, and savanahs. Where they live is really up to you and your campaign. My best advice to look up felines/ cats on Wikipedia and maybe read up on their varied habitats. Good luck!

I recall hearing that they're most common in southern Garund (south of the Mwangi Expanse).

If you're running a Varisia game, there's some of everything in Kaer Maga. Also, Pathfinders or slave traders could explain them turning up just about anywhere.

Cheers!
Landon

Catfolk are found in greatest numbers in Gerund, but also the jungles of southern Tian Xia and can be found anywhere in the innersea. but if you want them to have tribes/cities then any place that has jungles or forest would do just fine.

Thank you for your answers.

Landon and Dragon, you mentioned Garund. Are you guessing because of the jungle proximity or have you seen any reference in source book. I know I can come up with something but if something official exist, I may start from there.

Nope; I've mentioned here and there on the boards that southern Garund has a large amount of catfolk. If not a catfolk nation, then definitely enough that if we do a book about southern Garund, catfolk will probably be one of the core PC races for the region.

We haven't done much beyond that at all with the concept though.

Oh! thank you M. Jacobs.

I realy apreciate the answer and your presence here! Be sure that if a Garund book is done, I'll be looking for it.

Catfolk also inhabit the Valashmai Jungle in Tian Xia.

I absolutely love Catfolk.. just always been a fan. (i'm a Leo and with long hair i look like a lion) so.. if you guys make an explicit and detailed book on Catfolk and their origins/inhabitants.. i would buy it up right now.. no doubt.

Garund.. i like that, i can tie that into my campaign :)

I would also like a book for catfolk as well.

Well. This just struck a nerve. I believe one of your next announcements should be for this book.

I mean, c'mon. Catfolk? Not a hard sell in the slightest.

It would be cool to have some write up for Southern Garund where they can mock up some rules for Catfolk, perhaps even alternate racials like they did for Aasimar, Dhampir, Skinwalkers and Tieflings.

Lion, cheetah, etc.

Bump.. Something like "Blood of Angels/Fiends" Im just saying that kind of detail is amazing, and ive seen 3rd party books for catfolk.. and no offense to them, buuuuuut i want a Paizo brain working on it for Golarion campaigns. Throw in some cool art work for inspiration. BAM!

Yeah, hoping for something like that as well.

We should all start bumping this until this thread hits 100 pages and Paizo is crushed under the weight of our demands!

Give us catgirls!

Folk. I meant folk! Pretty sure I meant folk.

Catfolk in southern Garund is just another reason I'm looking forward to Paizo publishing it one day. (I guess I missed Jacobs saying Catfolk are concentrated somewhere there.)

Holomog sounds awesome and is what I've really been looking forward to (though hopefully it doesn't end up too much like bland Hardby in GH), plus a nation of Aranea and a nation of Dinosaur-riders -- already cool, but through in a nation of Catfolk,... yeah, I would love a book on southern Garund one day.

Hey, I'm intrigued about the possibility too, but honestly, aren't there a handful of other books Paizo should do first?

Spoiler:
Azlant
Absalom
5 Kings Mts
Cheliax (actually, this stuff's coming in August!)
and maybe
Galt
Vudra
Iblydos

Be wary cheese-butte, for you are crunchy and delicious with ketchup.

You rule my belly! I drool over your flank sizzling in my frying pans!

Catgirl's gotta eat something. (Folk, catfolk. Still struggling here.)
