Dark Archive 4/5

Okay, I'm slightly confused on what we're looking at for the Adventure Path and Pathfinder Society:

Do you start at the beginning, but you can only use the resources from the designated part, or do you start at the beginning of the authorized section, and go from there, ending at the specified point?

There's really no...direction on any of the released documention on what (as GMs) we're supposed to do for this...

For "home group mode", do pretty much whatever you like; as long as you play the listed bit, you get PFS credit as if you played a module with a pregen.

For "society mode", play the listed bit like a regular PFS-sanctioned module in order to get credit normally. Any other parts are not part of a PFS-sanctioned module and don't give credit.

If played as part of a normal campaign, can one apply the chronicle sheet to an existing non-level-one PFS character?

Yes, John.

The confusing bit is the reference to applying it as you would to a pregen. There is not to my knowledge any rule permitting one to play a pregen above level 7. Moreover, the rule above specifically limits playing a pregen to the 1-9 tiers.

It works the same as applying GM credit, if that helps.

Sorry - seems I missed something... Adventure Paths are now PFS playable?

1 person marked this as a favorite.

They are; see chapter 6 of the latest PFS Guide (v4.3).

Only RotR and Shattered Star are sanctioned currently; the specific rules and chronicle sheets are on the Additional Resources page.

WOW

Kewl! I missed that factoid.

I would LOVE to see some Skulls and Shackles action.. cause Pathfinders fighting Pirates and

Spoiler:
the Cheliaxian Navy
sounds like so much fun.

Not to get some firearms on my chronicle sheets. Nope..not at all. Really. :D

Sorry Thomas - Skulls and Shackles is NOT available for PFS play. ONLY the Anniversary Edition of ROTR and Shattered Star are legal for PFS.

My question - does one have to register the game session ahead of time, as a home game or not, to have a vehicle for reporting the session to get credit?

EDIT: Or does it work like gaining credit for reading a book, (i.e. you just have to get the Chronicle signed by a PFS legal GM?)

Sovereign Court 3/5

You should still record the event and fill out the chronicle for it properly. This is just in case any GMs get nosey about where your sweet power came from

Spoiler:
Being able to cast haste 1/day as a spell like using your character level as your caster level is pretty sweet and will throw people off. Thanks Shattered Star book 1

Actually, the Pathfinder Tales Chronicles are for OWNING the book. So you can get them even if you can't read. (though I have read them all, and one judge I get to sign the Chronicles asks for a briefing on the one I'm getting him to sign for).

;)
