First, a little about me. Been GMing on and off for about 15 years - and the last two have been GMing a lot. Started 5 campaigns in the last 3ish years, 3 were played out to completion. All of them were in the PF system. Also, ran almost 40 PFS games in the last 9ish months, so I'm a pretty experienced DM, and consider myself in the top 20%.
So, a little burnt on my norm of running Pathfinder, so I'm going to do something a little different and run Fallout pnp. The game will ber based largely on Van Buren, which was Black Isle Studios version of fallout 3, taking place largely in Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado and Las Vegas before fallout New Vegas.
The basis of the game is here: My Fallout Obsidian Portal. I will need to make a few changes, such as no starting equipment, but I'll make starting packages of some sort (that likely won't have any loot).
Game will take place on Sundays, starting sometime around noonishy PST. I play on map tools. If interested please let me know so I can see if I can get a head count for this game.
So come enjoy post-apocalyptia with us.

I'm actually using JE Sawyers (the guy who made all the mechanics for Fallout 1, 2 and New Vegas) pen and paper rules. It never got officially published because bethesda or black isle games (can't remember which) stomped on the game, so he couldn't sell it, so just posted it for free on the web. The gist of it is on the link in the above post.
I'll send you all my source material, though I think if you just google fallout pnp a lot of it comes out too. I am using an update Matthew Standley did after fallout new vegas came out as well, which I have that material as well. Though once again, everything players will need is on the site.
Any kind of character will do. As I'm basing it largely on Van Buren (cancelled fallout 3) there will be multiple ways to get through many encounters. As far as the actuall source material I have from that game most encounters have a stealth approach, diplomacy approach, science approach, and combat approach, though obviously some encounters have 3 or less (sometimes even only 1) approach that can be done successfully. I figure the best thing will be to check out the site and kinda think about what you want to build and speak with the rest of the party.
If still interested pm me on skype: underableedingsun, and I can add you to the group.
Deidre Rose |
Helloooo. I'd like to submit Deidre, who would be a CH and IN based character. She's an archaeologist of sorts; exploring pre-war ruins and collecting data from the past to help better the future. She is a wasteland native, and depending on the story (I'm not familiar with the cancelled FO3), would have been with the Followers of the Apocalypse for a little time. I will probably take Bloody Mess and Jack-of-all-trades as my Traits and will focus on sniping and sneaking as my mode of attacking. ST and EN will take a blow so I would want to stay out of combat and attack from vantage points, maybe even utilize traps to my benefit.
Also, depending on what else is submitted, I may play a super-mutant. Pretty much a character that I do not have to invest much in (but could certainly make for incredible gameplay fun, which I haven't done simple/smashy in a while).
I'm definitely not familiar with this system but it seems to be rather basic so it shouldn't be hard to adapt. Thanks! Looking forward to a Fallout PbP.
