Can't think of a character I'd like to play that would go good with the party.

Advice

The party members are: sorcerer, magus, ranger, and a barbarian/fighter.
I would like to play something that would fit the party well.
Any ideas?

Obviously the party could use a divine caster, so cleric or oracle would probably be helpful. On the other hand, there's no rogue either, so one of those would probably help too. The Ranger is probably the skill monkey at the moment. It doesn't look like you need to make a melee-heavy guy since the magus, ranger, and barbarian are all front-line characters.

Seems damage heavy. An oracle, cleric, bard, or witch always goes over well with the martial types, a caster built as a summoner (either a god wizard, druid, or master summoner) would provide perfect battlefield control. My money is on a witch, but only because I've been jonesing to play the scarred witch doctor archtype...

Everyone loves a Bard.

But you could take both the healer role (somewhat) and the Rogue role as an Alchemist, since they get Disable Device and the Cure spells.

I'm participating in the above campaign...I'd like to help clarify a few things.

The Sorcerer is a Kitsune, I'm assuming they plan to focus on charms. The Magus is pretty standard and Human, the Ranger wants to focus on ranged combat, bows specifically, and is an Elf, the Barbarian/Fighter (two-weapon fighting/dex based) is a Tiefling and there's also a Monk in there who is trying to talk the GM into letting him play as a Werewolf.

Oh, and we have an additional player who is eyeing the Ninja in particular, though I believe he wants to work with the GM as a villain for the campaign.

A Seeker Oracle could be both pseudo-rogue and divine caster.

druid is an excellent class for going the summoner route. will give you a lot of utility and choices as you level.

so possibly 6 party members and no class with divine? are your guys nuts!? J/K go oracle, cleric, druid, bard, inquisitar, alchemist, or witch for the support/healer route.

Grand Lodge

Seriously, some kind of healer looks to be what you need most. Parties can survive without them, but it can be rough. In particularly it means a lot of treasure is going to be dedicated to potions and wands of cure light wounds at this rate. Other than that, it seems like a very versatile party.

Cleric would be really good. With that many people that are going to need healing, channel energy would be really efficient. A bard can do a little healing and won't need use magic device to use a wand. With that many in the party a buffer would be a great boon. Open with bardic music and some spells, join combat, then heal as needed.

This. The bigger the party, the better channeling becomes. You would save the party a fortune in healing magic.

Clerics can summon monsters, too. You can hang back and protect the sorcerer, and cast buffs, summons, or whatever else you like. Having the whole cleric spell list available gives you a lot of choices.

One thing that would help is knowing what type of character you want to play. It is obvious to everyone that can see your list that a cleric or an oracle is the perfect fit to this group. I am guessing it is also obvious to you. This being said I am assuming that you do not want to play a heal bot? If this is the case what type of role do you want to play in the group. Keeping in mind that just because you already have damage dealers and meat shields does not mean that is not what you want to play.

This community has nearly limitless knowledge and experience but we need to know what you want before this question can really be answered.

can always roll a support/battle cleric or oracle.

+1 to Satchmo. Give us what you want to play and we can help. But battle cleric or healer mystery oracle would be great, if you would not mind such characters.

Something that can buff this whole party would be highly valuable - with such a large group I would suggest:

- cleric focused on buffs, some healing and some battlefield control

- oracle could also work but will be less flexible

- bard. Less healing but great scaling buffs that the party would value plus can be skill monkey/party face (unless the charm focused sorcerer will be doing that)

A less caster centric buffer would also work - a freebooter ranger or many cavalier archetypes might also offer non spell buffs and could be a flexible fighter (frontline or ranged). Teamwork feats could be good with a large party.

Personally I like playing clerics so I would lean that way. Potentially even looking at unusual variants such as take some variant channeling.

Silver Crusade

Do you have access to Inner Sea Magic? Do you want all the power of a caster but all the functionality of a Rogue? Then do not settle for these "pseudo-rogues". Be a real Rogue, be a UMD 'Mystic Theurge'! All you need is some focus into the Bluff and Use Magic Device skills as well as the False Casting feat from Inner Sea Magic and nobody will ever doubt that you are truly a GREAT AND POWERFUL 'Mystic Theurge'!*

With a 19 or higher bonus to UMD you automatically succeed UMD checks to use a wand; all the functionality of a Rogue with all the perks of being a 'Mystic Theurge'! As a UMD 'Mystic Theurge' you will have more 'Spell Slots' than your Sorcerer has in a week!

If you like having all the skills of a Rogue, gaining access to Rogue talents and class features, using both Divine and Arcane magic with impunity, and the ability to talk circles around anyone who doubts your power; the UMD 'Mystic Theurge' might be right for you!

Liberty's Edge

Inquisitor.

I'd look at divine casters first. Rangers are a bit too light on casting, but Paladins, in combination with lay on hands, deserve consideration along with all the medium BAB divine casters. Witch and Bard are possible if you don't want a divine caster, but except the healing patron witch they non-HP healing.

oh yeah paladin is also a good choice since they get some 2nd level spells as 1st level spells.

Cleric, oracle, Druid.

Cleric if you want the ability to change abilities day by day. Oracle if you want more consistent spell casting with your high spells per day. Inquisitor if you want to be a skill monkey, buffer, and combat capable. Bard is the same as Inquisitor, but more or less focused on combat depending on your archetype.
