Well, people love to talk about themselves, I guess.

1. How long have you been gaming? Um...23 years now. On and off.
2. First game system you played? Technically the red box, but really got into 2nd edition with my first full-on group.
3. What are your 3 favorite systems? Pathfinder. Just Pathfinder.
4. Fate of your first character? Lakida Theras was last seen dragging dead companions from a dungeon somewhere in Faerun. (She'd strung them together with a rope because she could drag the party a lot quicker than trying to carry them all, even with an 18/76 strength.)
5. Do you still game with any of your original group? No...they live out of state and we grew apart anyway. I've just stopped gaming with my original Pathfinder group because of the breakup, and because my life finally stabilized in other areas. So I might be joining my second full-on Pathfinder group.

And finally why do you visit these forums? Why else...other than to be a sarcastic, slightly self-important, semi-insecure windbag? ;)

I guess you don't GM much? :P

Silver Crusade

Not anymore, no. But...why do you ask? </innocent expression>

1. How long have you been gaming: Since 1992
2. First game system you played: D&D Rules Cyclopedia
3. What are your 3 favorite systems: D&D/PF, Rifts, Mutants and Masterminds
4. Fate of your first character: Lichdom.
5. Do you still game with any of your original group: Nope/
And finally why do you visit these forums: To pass the time. Occasionally to poke the community with a question that myself and/or the group I'm with has about the rules.

-S

1. Sporadically since 1985; regularly since 1999.
2. D&D Basic (Red Box).
3. Pathfinder, Call of Cthulhu, Mutants & Masterminds (any edition).
4. Ignominious death by spiked pit trap...
5. None of the kids I played with in the eighties, no. My group has been mostly intact since '99 though!
6. It's a good place to steal, er, borrow campaign ideas or clarify vague rules.

A quick survey about the type of gamers who are on this forum
1. How long have you been gaming?

ooooh september of 1978...
2. First game system you played?
peek-a-boo!, ahhh you mean FRP, AD&D (though we had the chainmail boxed set!)
3. What are your 3 favorite systems?
tricky. AD&D as it tried and told you to create your own world. Stormbringer/Runquest as it was a game of STYLE, you knew you were dead meat in 3-10 game sessions so you made the most of it while you could. Heros/Champions a complex but smooth system for handling powers, but long (ever so long) combats... And Path*bzzzz* what?! I'm outta entries?!
4. Fate of your first character ?
lol... good 'ol Charon Zinfandel, 18 level cleric of Dionysus, 19th level Wizard... retired on his self aware winery (aka fortress based on Ft Ticonderoga) made of obsidian... cast reverse Heal (successfully I might add) on Shub-Niggurath then threw a brick and killed her... ahhh, those were the days...
5. Do you still game with any of your original group ?
sadly no, they are in a better place now... what? He's workin for Macrosoft?! dangit!
6? And finally why do you visit these forums?
I try to lend some insight and keep it creative. For some unknown reason I think my opinion has some value. I like to laugh at the dumb stuff people post and the internet is invaluable for that... I read my old posts and laugh sometimes...
Thanks all
no problem... so when do I get my test results back?

1. The first summer in which the "black cover" AD&D revised 2nd edition books could be grabbed off the shelves of a book store... I think it was '95 or '96.

2. AD&D revised 2nd edition - and I taught myself how to DM, and all of my players how to play, with no experience with RPGs or D&D outside of console video games of similar genre (like The Legend of Zelda II: the Adventures of Link, and Final Fantasy).

3. Pathfinder, Shadowrun, and the "new" World of Darkness in no particular order... though the list changes to BECM D&D, AD&D revised 2nd Edition, and HackMaster, in that order, if we alter the question to "What are your 3 favorite systems that most of your gaming group doesn't like to play?".

4. My first character's fate is that he survived, was successful in the adventures he'd gone on, and was then retired so that I could try out another class. Occasionally, I bring him into a campaign as an NPC if the party needs sagacious assistance.

5. Not one. I don't even know those guys anymore except for the one that is my cousin.

6. I visit these forums because I enjoy Pathfinder and enjoy talking about things which I enjoy - I also find it useful to see what other people are unsure about in regards to the rules, and research those rules to make sure I have an answer on the matter, so that I am better prepared to handle any confusion that my players might have while we are playing the game.

1. Just over 10 years.

2. D&D 3.0

3. D&D 3.5, Pathfinder, Ars Magica. I haven't really played many other systems, but I'd like to try World of Darkness or Scion some time.

4. My first character was played during a quick one-off scenario a workmate ran for me and another employee during a convention. In the final encounter, the character succeeded at somehow bluffing its way past a monstrous guardian (a 20 on the die helped), with the other PC's unconscious body across his shoulders (a failure would have led to dual deaths, most likely). Good times all around :)

5. No; we live in three different countries, and no longer work for the same company, so we haven't been able to play again. I was part of a more regular group from around 8 years ago until about 2 years ago, but the group more-or-less disbanded once family and work began taking up too much time for most/all of us.

6. Mainly to participate in play-by-post, but I also like to keep up with other happenings within the community.

Thanks all

1.- 17-18 years. Started in 1996.

2.- AD&D 2e

3.- d20 (a mix of 3.5 and Pathfinder elements), 7th Sea, Ars Magica 5e. AD&D 2e still is my nostalgia favourite, though, but my players never let me DM it (save for one guy, they really dislike that system. Ungrateful bastards).

4.- Gnome Illusionist killed by zombies and werewolves after opening a cursed sarcophagus. He was the last member of the party to go down, though, so that's something.

5.- More or less, yes. Of the original five-player group, two left about 10 years ago (they still show up for occasional one-shots and boardgames, though); the other three are still part of the group. Three new players joined over the course of the last decade (one in 2002, one in 2007 and one in 2009).

6.- I think I originally joined to check on some converted material, and eventually it became part of my daily routine.

1. Since mid-80s.
2. Red-box D&D.
3. Uhm. I'm not really a "favourite system" kinda guy, but if I would have to pick something: old World of Darkness, Dark Heresy and Edge of the Empire.
4. The very first character I played was a little thief that went by the name Usiel. He was largely based on a miniature of a little sneaky-looking guy armed with a reinforced club. As for what happened to him (or the mini, for that matter), I have no idea.
5. No.
6. To kill time and maybe browse an interesting discussion now and again.

If you guys continue to make me the oldest gamer out here by nearly a decade I'm going to get depressed... though I could claim that I started my first 'regular' game in 1976 just to save a couple years' face. (First game was when my best friend's father introduced us to a 'brand new kind of game'. Started a campaign two years later...)

I think it's really cool to interact with someone who's been playing longer than I've been alive. Heck, my mother was 16 when you started playing!

Dark Archive

1. How long have you been gaming? Since Aug 89, 24 years
2. First game system you played? 1st Ed Ad&d.
3. What are your 3 favorite systems? Pathfinder. But I have a soft spot for all the Ad&d editions especially 2nd but excluding 4th,Yuck, Sorry
4. Fate of your first character? Thyran, Human Cleric. Dominated and killed by Strahd in Ravenloft 1
5. Do you still game with any of your original group? Yes! At least two of my current group were there at the start. Others still play but in other groups
And finally why do you visit these forums? Mainly to keep up to speed on pathfinder and rules errata et al. Plus I like feeling part of the bigger gaming community 

1. How long have you been gaming: 31 years.
2. First game system you played: D&D (Red Boxed Set)
3. What are your 3 favorite systems: Pathfinder, Shadowrun, T.W.E.R.P.S
4. Fate of your first character: Scorpio, Human Fighter, semi-retired after I stopped playing with my father and started playing with friends.
5. Do you still game with any of your original group: No, I moved too far away...and we were under 12 years old (been playing with current group for approximately 12 years).
6. Why do you visit these forums? To gain further insight into all aspects of gaming.

1. since 2001
2. DnD 3.0
3. I've only played DND 3.x, PF and Dark Heresy. Theoretically Kirthfinder is my favorite system but haven't played it yet.
4. Finished a small adventure. Lived happily ever after, I guess.
5. No, altough it is a posibility that I recruit someone from it.
6. Bored and addicted to DnD.

Liberty's Edge RPG Superstar 2013 Top 16

Worthy necro.

1. Since the late 80s.
2. Palladium's Robotech RPG.
3. Pathfinder/d20, GURPS, The One Ring
4. Man, I was like 11 so I don't remember. Probably died in some Macross Missile Massacre mecha explosion.
5. No, but I still keep in touch with them and would love to game with them if I ever had the chance.
6. Mainly to exchange war stories, advice, and GM/design wisdom.

1. How long have you been gaming: 28 years.
2. First game system you played: BECMI D&D, Tunnels and Trolls
3. What are your 3 favorite systems: Pathfinder, Call of Cthulhu (or any BRP/RQ derivative), Marvel Super Heroes (TSR's 1980s 'FASERIP' system). I really want to give BECMI D&D the 'honorable mention' here as it is hard to choose between those four.
4. Fate of your first character: Something that must have been so mundanely boring that I've forgotten completely.
5. Do you still game with any of your original group: No, I wouldn't even know how to contact any of them nowadays.
6. Why do you visit these forums? To talk with people that (presumably!) have an interest in the same game as I do.

1. How long have you been gaming: Almost 13 years now (started when I was 12)

2. First game system you played: D&D 3.0

3. What are your 3 favorite systems: This actually needs two lists for me, as I differentiate between games that I want to play a full campaign of, and games that I use for oneshots (beer and pretzel games).
Long term games: Pathfinder, Shadowrun, World of Darkness
Short term games: Hollowpoint, Fiasco, Dread

4. Fate of your first character: He retired when I started running games as the original group split into a few groups for various reasons.

5. Do you still game with any of your original group: Until recently, yeah, I was playing with one of the guys from my original group. We've been friends since our first year of high school. Unfortunately he moved away a few months ago to go back to university, so he's no longer playing with us.

6. Why do you visit these forums: To chat about the game, and life in general, with people I know will share some of my interests. Also to keep up with what's happening with the game.

I started with the Red Box Basic D&D set and the original Monster Manual. Starting playing in the mid-80's (actually read the books/modules several years before I actually played).

2. First game system you played

AD&D was my first true game, although I read the Basic rules first.

3. What are your 3 favorite systems

3.5 D&D, Marvel Super Heroes, and 2nd edition D&D (I consider Pathfinder to be 3.5)

4. Fate of your first character

It's been so long that I can't remember. Plus, I mostly DMed.

5. Do you still game with any of your original group

My original group? No. But I still game with one of my high school buddies now and then.

And finally why do you visit these forums

The WOTC forums suck? Kind of a weird question.

Thanks all

2. Red box Basic D&D
3. Pathfinder, Mutants and Masterminds, FATE (Dresden in particular)
4. Retired, I guess?
5. Only when I happen to go home for a visit, sometimes.

I visit the forums for a few reasons:
a. to see what other folks are doing.
b. to answer polls
c. to see what the developers are thinking about, with regards to the game or the Golarion setting.

1. That magical summer between 8th and 9th grade 1980

2. D&D red box

3. Pathfinder, D&D 2E

4. Ruler of a storage box in my garage

5. I still do with 3 of 5

6. Pure fun and troll hunting

1. How long have you been gaming: Since 89 or 90?

2. First game system you played: Red box D&D

3. What are your 3 favorite systems: 2nd edition AD&D, 3.5 D&D, Unnamed system I created

4. Fate of your first character: His name was King, and he was charmed by Bargle the evil magic-user (Failed saving throw).

5. Do you still game with any of your original group: My original group was my dad and my brother. I still play with my brother.

6. Why do you visit these forums: It's interesting to see how different people think about table-top RPGs.

1. How long have you been gaming: Let's see... carry the nine... on and off for about 26 years.

2. First game system you played: Red box

3. What are your 3 favorite systems: Pathfinder, Pathfinder, and Pathfinder

4. Fate of your first character: Died heroically facing an onslaught of enemies so the rest of the party (in which I had two other characters) could escape.

5. Do you still game with any of your original group: No, I don't even have contact information for any of them. Which is unfortunate, I'd love to see what's happening with them.

6. Why do you visit these forums:Multiple reasons. Sometimes to get rules clarifications. Sometimes to see what other people think of what Paizo's got cooking. Sometimes for no other reason than to be entertained by the witty banter of those that share a love for this hobby.

Dark Archive

1. How long have you been gaming: Since Christmas 1995.

2. First game system you played: AD&D 2e. Specifically, the Introduction to Dungeons & Dragons boxed set with the giant red dragon on the cover.

3. What are your 3 favorite systems: Fate, Apocalypse World Engine, and probably Old World of Darkness for nostalgia purposes.

4. Fate of your first character: Retired, as the campaign basically trailed off with no ending.

5. Do you still game with any of your original group: Depends on how generous you want to be with the term "original group." I first started playing with one or two other guys, mostly playing solo adventures with them, and I don't play with any of those people anymore, as we've all split up and moved to different states. I do still play with one guy I gamed with in high school, despite the fact that we no longer live in that state.

6. Why do you visit these forums: I like the community and enjoy seeing what's going on with the most popular RPG out there, even though my gaming tastes tend toward different things.

Shadow Lodge

1. Since the late 80s. Don't remember the exact year.
2. BECMI D&D
3. Swords & Wizardry, Call of Cthulhu, and BESM.
4. God, I don't really remember. When I first started playing I made up a ton of characters....only maybe a quarter of them actually ever saw play. I think they mostly eventually died, so he probably died.
5. Nope, been moved around way too much for that.
6. Decent discussion, plus you can actually find discussions about other game systems here as well.

1. How long have you been gaming? Including CCGs, 1st grade, which would be... I want to say 1999. I didn't started tabletop until highschool, but that only lasted about a year. College was when I REALLY got into it.
2. First game system you played 3.0 DnD.
3. What are your 3 favorite systems? Pathfinder/d20 OGL, Cthulu, and a friends homebrew system called N0C. It wasn't a hard choice because those are really the only ones I've played (since PF is basically 3.0+).
4. Fate of your first character? A half-elf bard that managed to survive an encounter with a red dragon without breaking any limbs, which is better than I can say for the ranger, who broke both arms and a leg.
5. Do you still game with any of your original group? No. I don't really even talk to any of them. In high school they were basically my "placebros". Once I got to senior year, and then to college, I started meeting people that I had a lot more in common with and I realized I only hung out with the placebros because I didn't have anyone else to, although, sometimes I feel like getting back in touch with one of them in particular.

And finally why do you visit these forums Because if I talked [i]at[/i[ my friend about PF as much as I wanted to they would tell me to shut up xD They like playing, sure, but I... REALLY like playing haha.

2) 3.0 starter set, but first real campaign was 2e.
3) Pathfinder, 3.5, Call of Cthulhu D20.
4) Retired and wandering the multiverse.
5) Most of my original group is still together, though meeting less regularly.
6) Bored at work. ;)

1. Since 2005/6 high school group ran by my technology teacher.

2. 3.5
3. Pathfinder, CuthuluTech, 3.5
4. Greatsword wielding fighter named Karas campaign was abandoned so...Lost to the sands of time
5. No
6. Obsession? Also play by posts. This is gaming group now.

1. 26 years? That would make me 6 years old at the time. Tough to say exactly, because I didn't have a fully formed consciousness. Six is what I've been told. Due to my older brothers, D&D was basically my version of "make believe".

2. I want to say the Red Box D&D, because it's the first one I remember seeing.

3. Burning Wheel, Shadowrun 3e, Pathfinder

4. "Dude the Druid?" All I remember is he wildshaped into a T rex and fought another T rex. It was formative.

5. Brothers, yes. One of them only rarely, but the other weekly. And we all still game a lot.

6. I showed up when I first read that Paizo was keeping the OGL going after 4e was announced. I... don't know why I'm still here. Nobody's ever asked. Why AM I here?

EDIT: Probably because they're still going with the OGL! So maybe, if they ever scrap it (or the spirit of it), I will leave....

5. On the odd occasion but it's getting increasingly rare.
6. For PBP mostly.
