Happy "Middle of the Holidays Insanity" All,
I seem to have 'broken' something with a purchase I tried to make last night (12/25/12) with a Visa gift card.
The items currently in my shopping cart are the items I tried to purchase (using the Paizo holiday discount, if that is a factor). The transaction was declined here at Paizo, but my gift card shows the exact amount of the order ($63.25 with shipping) has been charged and removed.
Is this just a 'pre-authorization' charge since Paizo was closed for the holiday, or is there something else going on? I am great with confusion here... (o_O)

Hey Dalesman,
As you suspected the amount currently withheld on the card is an authorization, and it should be expiring in the near future freeing up the funds for use again. Upon review of the reason why the gift card was unsuccessfully charged there was a discrepency between the address between what the cards provider uses for its billing address and the one on file here at Paizo. You will want to check with the gift card provider to determine the gift cards billing address and use that when using it for your order. It should go through successfully at that time.
Sorry for the confusion, we just updated our security settings recently and our payment confirmation is much more stringent than previously.

Thanks for the information, Erik. The addresses are indeed different (as this was a gift from my employer) - I didn't even think to change that.
The original authorization has cleared out, and I just successfully processed my order with the correct information. It looks like Mrs. Dalesman will get a late Christmas treat after all! (^-^)
