Name: The Knights of the Crusader Road

Role: Knightly Order with a strong focus on community-building and peacekeeping

Membership: All are welcome who uphold the ideals of the Knights
Concept: The Knights of the Crusader Road are an order of knighthood dedicated to free and lawful passage along the Crusader Road. To that end, the Knights will establish and defend an urban base from which enterprising merchants, crafters, scholars, and entrepreneurs can safely operate and conduct business. The Knights of the Crusader Road will seek out and punish criminals and evil-doers in alliance with like-minded organizations and individuals.
Out-of-Character Ideology: We believe in creating a safe and growing base from which to play in the world of Pathfinder Online. We believe in helping new players and creating a fun environment as free as possible from random attacks or griefing. We intend to support every style of play from the casual gamer to the dedicated MMO player.
How Lawful Good, Exactly?: Well, we don’t tolerate evil or lawlessness, but we’re not paladins, although we welcome them enthusiastically into our ranks. We are more precisely an order of knighthood dedicated to making travel safe along the Crusader Road. We are the light in the darkness. We are the strong sword-arm of the oppressed.
Motto: Let Justice be Done, Though the Heavens Fall.
Who Should Join The Knights of the Crusader Road?:
Those who want to fight heroically against evil and banditry, alone or small groups. Join us, let us train and equip you and send you out into the world ready to fight.
Those who want to be part of a large and powerful military order ready to answer the call of honor and duty. We will act as a large unit in conjunction with our allies to make the Crusader Road safe.
Those who wish to build towns, buildings, temples, stores, defenses or valuable goods. Those who want their labors to be not only personally rewarding, but to support goals larger than their own. We will keep you safe and you will see our soldiers equipped, housed, fed and entertained.
Those whose talents lie in the shadows, as spies, scouts or diviners. We need your skills as much as any swordsman’s.
Those who wish to speak for law and justice as missionaries, diplomats, scholars and visionaries. We need your voices.
Those whose only wish is to explore all the hidden ways of the River Kingdoms. We need explorers, adventurers, heroes and pathfinders.
The Hierarchy of the Knights: The Knights of the Crusader Road are more interested in the cooperative doing of good and building of communities than we are in rank, so our structure is fairly flat. The Captain-General consults with his council of Captains on issues regarding the goals and future of the Knights, which are decided in an open vote of the Captains.
The Captain-General appoints the Captains and any Captain may recommend a Knight for promotion to Captain.

I'm not a PvP fan and I don't know if I'll stick past my free month, but I like the concept of your guild. I plan on playing either an elven ranger or dwarven paladin, but either way the keeping of the roads is a good idea.

The Knights appreciate your offer, Andius. We'll put it to a vote, but my own inclination is to remain unaffiliated for the present. Who knows how much could change before the game starts rolling?
Of course we plan on close cooperation with brother organizations like the Empyrean Order!

With regards to the Alignment restriction for companies your CG members might be out of luck. Once again nothing is written in stone and is liable to change. GW is listening you know.
Right. I thought of that as well. The exact functioning of the alignment system either hasn't been revealed or hasn't been worked out, but we don't want to exclude chaotic good characters if we don't have to.
Let's say that our LG organization founds a town. The order of knighthood itself probably wouldn't appeal to a chaotic character. But should a good-hearted loner be unwelcome in our town? Should that wacky ranger who lives out in the forest eating grubs and pine nuts not be able to come into town once in awhile to get his laundry done, do some shopping and ogle a few barmaids? That'd be a silly result.
And what if membership in the Knights -does- appeal to the chaotic good ranger? It's not a priesthood and we're not gods. Why does he have to be within one step of the Knights' alignment? He could be a positive boon to the town and the Knights by scouting and spying even if he had no interest in uniforms and marching in a military group.
I hope GW will allow each group to set its own alignment policies.

On behalf of the settlement of Shadow Haven, let me add to the best wishes of Nihimon. You are, of course, welcome to visit our settlement at any time although we do request that you leave any prejudices at the boundary.
And obviously, you are more than welcome to peruse my wares at the Tilted Scales Emporium. Any items that resemble those lost by travellers on the road is purely coincedental, let me assure you.
Ah, but where are my manners? I am Kastarr Eunson, Councillor of Merchants and friend to all.
I bid you safe travels, my friend. I hear the roads are quite dangerous at this time of year.

Hello good knight Tarondor, I am Diox Jun traveling minstrel and story teller extraordinaire. I travel the crusader road often and would like the opportunity to uplift the spirits of your men as they battle to destroy the evil creatures that seek the end of the reign of man.
I offer for your entertainment rousing songs of battles long forgotten and rarely told, tales of valiant knights as they triumph over the darkest evil, and bawdy tales of beautiful women and the fools who would have them.

The Darklord: Not sure of the answer. If the system permits, we fully intend to welcome Chaotic Good characters into our order. Some people have suggested that the game will require guild members to be within one step of their guild's alignment. If that's the case, a CG character could not join an LG guild.

Sign me up guys, assuming a Chaotic Good Knight can join.
I haven't fully decided on my main character yet, but I think I'd like him to be a somewhat confused and rather wacky Knight, he wants to right wrongs, for the good of everyone!
You could always consider Neutral Good for the guild if it turns out Lawful good pushes out Chaotics, but you want to allow all good characters. Your guild of course. :-)

@TheDarklord That sucks but I wonder if a guild could establish a limited number of chapter houses. You know like how priest cannot harm people so they formed a militant chapter to work out "worldly" problems.
I think this could add alot of flavor and also provide goals for guilds to strive for. Knight need scouts and enforcers to have a strong military force.
I cancelled my kickstarter pledge, so I won't be in the guild. Best of luck!

For Tarondor, or any duly appointed representative, please feel free to visit with us. We are eager to discuss our mutual goals of community-building and peacekeeping. The Circle has much to offer in the way of trade goods, information, and shared enforcement of common rule.
