Archetypes that significantly alter Roles

I've previously geeked out over the Scroll Scholar Wizard archetype, and asked for the devs to please make these kinds of variations possible.

I just read the Warrior of the Holy Light Paladin archetype, and I'm geeking out even harder. One key thing about this archetype is that it actually replaces the Paladin's ability to cast spells and grants additional uses of Lay on Hands with special effects.

I don't know if it's possible, or a priority, but I think it would be absolutely phenomenal if these kinds of variations make their way into PFO.

I'll second that, I love some of the archetypes - Urban Barbarian is a lot of fun, more focused fighter types, less magic-y rangers...

I kinda see them releasing everything as core and rolling out additional options as time goes on.

Cloistered Cleric is another favorite. <3

i would love to see these, if only so that when choosing what skills you are training you have a choice other than train level 5 ability, train level 6 bonus feat. I can be this kind of paladin or that kind of paladin, more so than just feat choices (mechanically being very different from each other).

Now im not sure how viable it will be without the kickstarter hitting stretch goals as balancing all of them would take time and resources.

I imagine that these will be branches on the Path trees.

I love the Archaeologist. Bard variant that is basically a Rogue without the backstab plus spells.

If you think about it since you have to equip skills the archetype paths might just have some requirements involved with equipping them. I think it would be as simple as the Paladin loses access to casting spells when equipping the nimbus of light. Then to equip skills that require nimbus of light to progress through the archetype

That seems like a really simple way to achieve this. That's awesome! :)

Basically a character should have a "focus slot" that they use to determine their perks. You can use it for your pure class dedication bonus, your archetype bonus (or modification), etc. This isn't necessarily a item you have to equip, it could be a drop down on your character sheet.

Pathfinder is Pathfinder because of all these awesome home brews that have made it into the official game. That's why it's called 3.75 or 3.5+.

There is TONS of material for PFO to work with in their open skill/class sytem. Has anybody checked out the gun mage?

If only a DM would ever let me even show them my homebrew ideas. *grumble grumble*

I personally call Pathfinder 3.awesome.
