Analyze Dweomer clarification

Rules Questions

The spell description for Analyze Dweomer says in the case of a magic item, you learn it's functions (including any curse effects), how to activate its functions (if appropriate), and how many charges are left (if it uses charges).

Would this spell inform the caster of the exact numerical bonuses a magic item has? For example, the enhancement bonus (+1, +2, etc) a weapon, shield or suit of armour possesses? Would one know a Belt of Giant Strength is +2, +4, or +6?

I would say that the Player would know the numerical bonus for that item given the use of the spell. (from the "Learn its function" portion)

Even if it only said, "This belt gives you strength" once you put it on the GM would need to tell you so that the player could keep track of his bonuses. But I think it would be included with the spell.

For ease of book keeping on the DM's part, I vote Yes.

Although note that ALL numerical bonuses are metagame concepts that the characters in the game world would never know. I will certainly allow analyze dweomer to let the player know the exact bonuses though.

Properties of magic items (including the numerical bonuses, if any) can be determined using detect magic and a spellcraft check.

This skill is also used to identify the properties of magic items in your possession through the use of spells such as detect magic and identify.

Which just goes to show that Analyze Dweomer should certainly be capable of it.
