Has anyone out there got an iPad mini and tried to read a Paizo PDF, especially the bigger files? I currently have a 3rd gen iPad, and I love the Retina display. WHat I'm concerned about is readability and speed for rendering these large PDF files. I probably won't get an iPad mini until the next generation, but I would like to know how they perform.

The iPad mini's guts are the exact same CPU, RAM, and screen resolution as an iPad 2. If you know someone with a G2, you might take a look at them on one of those, but I would really tend to suspect it will be substandard if you're used to them on a 3rd gen.

Had an iPad2 some time ago, but have bought up to an iPad3 since.
The large files didn't give the iPad2 any troubles, but you have to choose the right pdf-reader app (just like with the current one).
Adobe reader is the slowest I experienced. GoodReader and iBooks, as well as Kindle are quite fast, and I couldn't really tell much of a difference there, though the GoodReader app I use most.
I'd wait for an iPad Mini with Retina personally.
