Cast the RotRL movie!

Rise of the Runelords

Was giving some thought to what actors I would like to play characters in a Rise of the Runelords movie( I can dream can't I?)

It also helps me role-play as I like to imitate the traits of famous actors.

So let me know your thoughts on who you would like to see if ever a movie was adapted from this brilliant adventure path.

I would like to see Hugo Weaving as Justice Ironbriar. He just personifies the cold, calculated intelligence I think Ironbriar would have and he plays great villains.

Grand Lodge

Hugo Weaving as Ironbriar is a good call. He is such a fine actor. And can play good or bad equally well.

I so would like to see RotR translated to film. It was so cool that a school did a play for Burnt Offerings.

Casting the Heroes would be the first part. And would you go with the four iconics from Burnt Offerings? If so, here are some ideas:

Veleros - Either Hugh Jackman or James Purefoy would be good choices. Though someone younger may be better. I just can't think of one.

Seoni - Emma Stone would be high on my list.

Kyra - Aishwarya Rai, though older may be ideal for Kyra.

Merisiel - Elle Fanning is only 14 now, but her slight frame and looks may work very well for Merisiel. And if you saw her in Super 8, you know she can act.

Fun thread! This is a start. There are so many to cast from Nualia, to Sheriff Hemlock, Mayor Deverin, to one of my favorites Shayliss Vinder, that this thread could go on for quite a while.

Ezren = Sean Connery

The movie can be rewritten to include most of the iconics!

Katie McGrath (Morganna from Merlin): Nualia (not exactly a stretch for her...)
Shalyliss Vender (Obligatory big name pop tart diva... nust need to play herself)

Sheriff Hemlock? Dwayne Johnson (The Rock)!
Daviren Hosk? Steve Austin (cameo)
Lonjiku Kaijitsu? Jackie Chan (gets a death scene)

Who's Karzoug? Alan Rickman?

Jack Black as all the unnamed goblins, but he's just the first goofball I thought of.

William Hung as a Goblin Warchanter

Assistant Software Developer

Hugo Weaving would be a much better Karzoug than Ironbriar.

Shadow Lodge

I think the original forward of Pathfinder #6 gave the perfect cast for Karzoug: Chow Yun-Fat!

Jared Padalecki as Aldern Foxglove.
Emilia Clarke as Nualia.
Byung-hun Lee as Tsuto Kaijitsu.

In general I find up-and-coming actors to be better for this kind of thought exercise than a list of A-listers.

Grand Lodge

I used Olivia Wilde for the big X, and Lucy Lawless (and her Spartacus persona) as Lucretia when I was coming up with pictures for props.

Ron Perlman should be in there somewhere, though I don't know who...

Ghouls could be designed to look like Uwe Boll :-). Please.

I used a still of Hugo Weaving as Elrond looking dour from one of the Lord of the Rings films as the portrait of Ironbriar on my Campaign website...

But I'll agree with Ross that he'd make a better Karzoug.

You'd have to use the original iconic lineup for the protagonists, too.

I'd toss out as possibilities...

Nathan Fillion as Valeros
Amy Acker as Merisiel
Salma Hayeck as Kyra
Kiera Knightly as Seoni

Not even Lucasarts could make me believe Kiera Knightly as Seoni... not enough "Charisma".

Like I said, I was just tossing out names.

Maybe Scarlett Johansen would be a better choice for Seoni.

I like Scarlet Johansen as seoni. I would have throw Tom Hardy out there for Valeros.

Grand Lodge

Johansen is a good choice too for Seoni. I still like Emma Stone in the role too though. She is a little younger than Johansen.

Even though this is so much fun thinking about this, it can never come to pass. It would so take away from future generation's experience in playing the Adventure Path. Though an argument could be made that if the movie was successful, it could send people to Paizo and the AP in unprecedented numbers.
