Not trying to do any of the specials?

Shadow Lodge 5/5

We were going to run Blood Under Absalom, but he decided not to. Though offering 6 tables of other scenarios was better than running a special.

argh .. right in the middle of my internship or I'd be looking at this

Silver Crusade

I was on the edge of offering Blood under Absalom. It was a 50/50 if it would be as successful as I wanted it to be, being as old as it was. More "generic" scenarios was a sure fire way to fill tables. We have a lot of traveling players. Easily half of our vets went to U-Con.

Sovereign Court 4/5

I can make it for slots 3-6.

Where do you want me?

If your scenarios are not set in stone I'd be glad to run all 3 parts of quest for perfection on saturday.

Scarab Sages

Just sent you an email, Tracy and I are available for slots 3-6.

Shadow Lodge 5/5

Woah, Vo's coming out of the woodwork... ;)

Silver Crusade

Dunno what to do with myself... Lol

Preliminary Questions & Comments:

I can get you in for the free badge GM wise. Would you argue with having the opportunity to play? Most of my GM's are just GMing enough to get the free badge, or is your heart set on the 4 slots of GMing?

QFP has been hit pretty hard in our region. It was run twice last year, and has had two runnings locally outside of the con, and then again at U-Con. I don't think it'd do as well as other options laid out already.

Sovereign Court 4/5

I'm fine with playing. I'm not worried about a free badge. The cost is low enough. As one of the closest other VOs I just wanted to offer my support. Do I'll gm whatever you need but am perfectly willing to play. I actually haven't played any season 4 scenarios yet.

Silver Crusade

Oh, I'll make sure you get your free badge. I'm just playing GM Tetris. Queue the Russian arcade music!

Silver Crusade

Heck, I might even get to play!

Sovereign Court 4/5

As I said use me where you need me. I don't care if I have to buy a badge.

Sczarni 5/5

Let me check my schedule. I may be around to help on Sat AM & afternoon.

Silver Crusade

13 spots to fill for GM's. I will finalize the list before christmas and pull on the GM's who've offered to run more, but I have them listed Minimally currently. Trying to maximize everyones play vs GM time vs. free badge time. :)

I have you down for Slot 5 & 6: Severing Ties.

Silver Crusade

You know, I just realized that I've never been to the state of Michigan. Now that I live in the Chicago area, it's an easy enough road trip. I will definitely have to consider this one, and I'll probably sign up to GM a couple of sessions if I go. Give me a few days to work out my schedule and decide what I'm doing.

Silver Crusade

7 Spots to go if you want to GM. On Dec 14th I will pull on GM's who have volunteered for more than the minimum.

Shadow Lodge 5/5

Fromper, if you do come up, I'd like to meet you. :) I've enjoyed many of your posts. Of course I'd like to meet most of the "regulars" on these forums. :D

Silver Crusade

Yeah, there's quite a few people on the boards I'd like to meet, too. I just need to determine how much road tripping I can handle in late January/early February. Between Winter War and Winter Fantasy (unfortunately on the same weekend, so I have to pick one), and then this, it may actually be too much in a short period of time.

Winter Fantasy's going to have an exclusive....

Just sayin

Silver Crusade

GM roster is filled. Thank you GM's!

This thread needs a location somewhere in the title. I'm making vacation plans, deciding which cons to go to in the near future, and I remembered there was an upcoming con in Michigan, but it took me a surprising amount of googling to find this thread. If the word Michigan had just been in the thread title, it would have made this MUCH easier to find.

For that matter, EVERY thread in this subforum needs a location somewhere in the title, if it doesn't already have one. The name of your con isn't enough info for people who are new to that con.

Fromper, I feel your pain, however, Dan is actually the creator of this

spreadsheet of awesomeness that details where cons on and when and other fun stuffs

Scarab Sages

Hey, I just realized that this is only a month away. Let's drum up some excitement! I'll be running The Disappeared, which if people haven't played they should. This is your first real chance to influence the season's metaplot. My group played this last Thursday and eked out a win. Let me know if there's anything else Tracy or I could do to help out before the con.

Sovereign Court 4/5

I'll be there! Looking forward to running and playing some too!

Silver Crusade

I'll be there possibly running around like a chicken with it's head cut off, or finally have leveled up high enough to have gained "Not look like a chicken" class ability of the coordinator class. :P

Wonder when I get the "Stern look of doom while reviewing the gaming floor" Mike Brock has. That was an impressive power.

Shadow Lodge 5/5

My wife and I are really looking forward to it. And this time I'll actually get to play every day. :) I already have what scenarios I can play, what my wife and I can play, and what scenarios I could play if my games I'm running fall through. :)

Scarab Sages

Just booked our rooms. I think we're going to try playing slot 3 and/or slot 5. We're GMing slots 4 and 6, but we're always good to backup GM too. I'm currently on track to just miss 4-stars at Who's Yer Con so I need to pick up 2 tables somewhere.

Shadow Lodge 5/5

I should make 4 stars at or just before Marmalade Dog. :)

Silver Crusade

I was on track to beat you and have 4 stars at Winter Fantasy, but then I decided the pace was insane, and was making me miserable.

Shadow Lodge 5/5

Yeah, yeah, use that excuse... ;) But really I wasn't trying to wear you down into the ground, it was just friendly ribbing. It was my own personal goal. My next goal is 5th star by/at GenCon. :)

Silver Crusade

Now I know you're nuts. that's 50 sessions in like 5ish months.

Shadow Lodge 5/5

6 months, a couple of game days, and probably a con or two. It might not happen, but it very well could.

Silver Crusade

You guys are crazy. You've gone from like, one star to 4 in six months.

Silver Crusade

Yeah, I thought I was nuts signing up to GM 5 sessions this month. But that's why I'm still working on my 2nd star.

Shadow Lodge 5/5

Actually, it'll have been about 18 months for me to get to 4 stars... :) It'll be two years if I manage to get to 5 stars around GenCon.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

That last 50 is a royal pain let me tell you *sigh*

The Exchange

You should have gotten in back when it was 100 & a wink to get your 5th.

50 in 6 months is not insurmountable; it's far easier when you can run the same scenario multiple times though. I'd hate to be stuck in an area where I'd have to run 50 different scenarios in 6 months because I have a small pool of players to serve.

Doug Miles wrote:

I blame Baird for that.... just saying *sigh* I tried lol

Sovereign Court

I have 2 by accident. If I happen to stumble into more then so be it.

Fromper wrote:

Yeah, I think I average like 4 a month since I started running in July. I've done up to 10 session a month, and 10 sessions a month is crazy to keep up.

The Exchange

It's all a matter of priorities. If you put GMing ahead of a relationship, spending time with your family, saving for retirement, leisure time, your health, exercise and fitness it is elementary to average 10 sessions a month for 37 months in a row.

Silver Crusade

Jeez, that's an awfully specific number...37 that is. ;)

Come stop in and play a slot or two (or all seven!)

Shadow Lodge 5/5

I thought we weren't in a race anymore Dan? What's up with running every table every slot at M-Dog? You're gonna kill yourself running that much... ;D

The Exchange

He was trying to lull you into complacency and then, WHAM! 39 sessions in 3 days. I suggest stealing the session sheets and shredding them before he can enter them, Eric. It's your only hope of winning now.
