Until Paizo's browser-based VTT is complete, I'll be using MapTools to make the maps, saving them as image files, uploading them to my photobucket (yes, it still exists), and then posting links to them as needed.
During combat, there will be an updated map linked at the bottom of each of my posts, unless there is no need for one.

So in reading the Players Guide again, I realized I was building a dungeon-crawl concept character for a forest exploration adventure....so if you'll allow it, Ive come up with a completely new character to be considered.
Connel v2.0 is a servant of Abadar, a missionary anxious to settle the wilds and bring the greatness of cities to the Stolen Lands.
Alias has been updated with new stats and history. Everything is from the PRD so I don't think there are any questions to ask (the most unsual items are the subdomains and the special material weapons but theey are all from the PRD so I'm hoping htey are acceptable).
Thanks again for the consideration!

I haven't crunched your gear to double check numbers, but looks good.

I'm sorry, but Yoda is vastly overpowered, even for this game. ;)
I am interested in playing but have never made a gesault character before. I am going to give it a try and see what I come up with. I am thinking an Internal Alchemist/Monk.
Once gestalt clicks, it becomes easy to build a character with it. As an internal alchemist/monk, you will have BAB +0, Fort +2, Ref +2, Will +2, 4 + Int modifier skill ranks at 1st level. You'll have all the weapon and armor proficiencies of both the alchemist and monk, plus all of the class features of both classes. As normal, if you wear armor or carry enough to be encumbered, you lose your Wisdom bonus to AC from monk.

I am going to ditch the heirloom weapon. I may purchase a Falcata with my starting gold and say it is an heirloom weapon, but I don't think the trait will work for flavor the way I wanted it to. I partially considered taking exotic weapon proficiency at 1st, but the extra revelation will add more to flavor and RP. I'll update my character accordingly.
I will instead be taking Natural Born Leader trait. Unfortunately, I cannot edit my earlier post. Do you want me to repost the whole thing?

Be careful what ideas you give me. ;)

I'm okay with you having a falcata, and I'm okay with the Heirloom Weapon trait, it's just that with the errata, they don't play well with each other anymore. It sucks, I'm not really a fan of the change, but them's the rules.
Natural-Born Leader is an excellent trait for Kingmaker, so I'm cool with it. ;)
No need to repost everything.
*Waving to show they's till here* (^_^)
I would have been more surprised if you posted to say you're withdrawing. I've learned to expect some version of "Sunny" in every game played on these boards. :p
Still here too! Vitalist was approved, but I'm more liking the RP possibilities for the Summoner/Court Bard. :)
No worries, I encourage my players to play the characters they want. I can adapt the world and story to fit what is brought before me. Just know, you brought the Vitalist to my attention, so don't be surprised to see it show up. :D
I'm still here as well. Just working out a name and backstory for my character still. You can be sure it will be up before the deadline.
No worries, there's still plenty of time for such things.
Not getting anywhere with the gesault so I will withdraw. hope you guys have a good game.
Thanks for stopping in, and sorry this game isn't for you. Take care and feel free to read things once the game is up and running.

I would be very interested in participating in this one - not only because it is Kingmaker, but also because it is in this format - I have a few character concepts in mind but would like to submit an option that would complement the others already presented, even though gestalt is such a mix mash :D
Any chance of seeing an updated list of the submissions or shall I just proceed as is?
Also, any one aware of a useful character creation program or software that can allow you to get a better look at what the character looks like once it is done?
Thanks.

Happy to have you Edeldhur. Please, build the character you'd like to play. I'd rather have a party of folks who want to play the character they build, than have a party of characters that make up a "well-rounded" party.
After all, did the Fellowship have a cleric? ;)

Correct you are sir :D
If I understood, submissions end by Monday - I am expecting to have a submission before that.
Thank you Black Fang.

Posting for a question of the DM.
Are they happy with what they see of the character's page so far?
Any thoughts, comments?
Much cheers to all. (^_^)
Riverfolk is an alternate racial trait, not a character trait.
Gillmen have base languages of Common and Aboleth. How do you have Aquan AND Sylvan?
Black Fang |
Yah...so being a racial trait of the race she's a part of she can take it,right?
Also, thank'e for pointing out the language problem. Editing now that the boards are more stable.
(^_^)
There are Racial Traits and Race Traits. Gillmen Racial Traits are +2 Con, +2 Cha, -2 Wis; Medium; Aquatic; Normal Speed; Amphibious; Enchantment Resistance; Water Dependent; and their Languages.
Alternate Racial Traits for Gillmen are Riverfolk; Slimehunter; and Throwback.
In the ARG, there are no Gillmen specific Race Traits, so Sunny has none.
Looking in the Advanced Player's Guide, you'll see the Dwarf Race Traits Goldsniffer and Tunnel Fighter.
Race Traits and Racial Traits are different things.
Black Fang |
Am confused. I'm looking in the right place and seeing this trait....what am I thinking wrong.
When I say you have 1 Kingmaker campaign trait, plus 2 other traits, that does NOT include Racial Traits. It's not hard to understand, but maybe someone else can explain it to you.
Anyone able to help Sunny understand this?
"Sunny" |
Um...nope...still not getting that.
I have three traits to allocate.
One is a Kingmaker trait. (Bandit) which is allocated.
For the renaming two traits...I can't allocate one of them as being a racial trait...for the race i am a part of...?
How else does one of said race acquire said racial trait then?
Black Fang |
I think I just thought of a way to explain it.
Apples and Oranges. They are similar, but not the same.
Race Traits are Apples.
Racial Traits are Oranges.
Examples of Apples: Goldsniffer (dwarf), Forlorn (elf), Animal Friend (gnome)
Examples of Oranges: Slow and Steady(dwarf), Defensive Training (dwarf), Elven Immunities (elf), Elven Magic (elf), Gnome Magic (gnome), Illusion Resistance (gnome), Water Dependent (gillman), Riverfolk (gillman; replaces Water Dependent).
On Sunny, Bandit and Threatening Defender are Apples, while Riverfolk is an Orange.
You can have the Riverfolk orange, in exchange for getting rid of the Water Dependent orange. Since Riverfolk is an orange, you have another apple to pick.
Does that make sense to you?
Black Fang |
Ahhh! *Nods* yeah, gotch'a. So...pretty much just give a little edit and effectively 'gain' a 'generic' trait, then? (^_^)
Already written in the "River Folk' things. (+50% fire damage etc) So, add another trait. Sweet/cool.
Thank'e an' sorry I am fer bein' such a lump.
Don't worry, you're hardly the first to not understand the distinction. The trick is to find a way to explain things to folks. It just took me a while to think of a way that would work on you. :p

Black Fang, as agreed here is the backstory of Helgash (the potential Barbarian/Paladin) for your consideration [in the alias link]. I will be submitting the crunch during the weekend, but I guess you are right in that the ruling needs to be made first.
I will be waiting for your feedback.
Cheers.
P.S. don't get hit by the wall of text :D

Helgash, permission granted so long as you modify backstory to include being a Serene Barbarian.
Also, the Worldwound has only existed for a little over 100 years, so that part of "The Epic of Helgash" will need to be modified. I recommend simply changing things from being centuries, to generations. That, or you could have them attacking deep into the wilds of Irrisen.
Helgash |
Serene Barbarian...? Ouch, that is so far away from the concept of Helgash, both in his behavior and backstory. This guy is still brimming with rage and misgivings regarding all he has been through, not at all calm and contemplative, instead he has much to prove, mainly to himself.
Also, mechanics wise, it is painful as hell, when looking at so many optimized gestalt characters applying.
I'll take a further look at it, but it does not really fit what I had in mind. Can I ask why the Serene Barbarian archetype restriction?
What if I would then go for the Maenad race as was suggested in the forums?
