Ohhh!! Got it. You've got the Pinned condition. Would already have been holding your symbol? If yes, take that action, if no, you can try to escape. If you can cast the spell, remember I need a concentration check (if it calls for it).

I think it's my turn now...

Charles tries to grab the fire elemental, igoring the fact that the fire burns his fingers something fierce. If he succeeds, he will heave the elemental right into the pudding. Summoning up all his power, he burns a point of mythic power to aid him in this endeavor. "Come now", he grunts:"Let's toss you in some ugly".

Repostion combat maneuver 1d20 + 6 + 1d6 ⇒ (4) + 6 + (6) = 16

If i succed, i will push the elemental towards the black pudding for 5 feet. Every additional 5 i beat the elemental's CMD over moves him another 5 feet.

If Mari's ability is still active, i would re-roll

Repostion combat maneuver 1d20 + 6 + 1d6 ⇒ (5) + 6 + (1) = 12

huh, fat luck that did.

Yeah, sorry, didn't make the CMD on either. Fire damage! 1d6 ⇒ 5

Scarab Sages

Elyza continues her measured retreat and slaps the pudding again 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (20) + 3 = 23 for 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5. Confirmation 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (16) + 3 = 19 for additional 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2.

Spoiler:
Not much else she can do. Move back down the hallway to 30' from the blob, putting her off the map, and Telekinetic Fist 2 of 7.
AC 16; HP 13; MP 0 of 5

Oh! I forgot about the reroll. 1d20 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 2 + 2 = 14? Feh.

It's a supernatural ability so no concentration check required. I was holding my shield, unless that is also destroyed? So, if I no longer have my shield, the channel goes off.

you still have your shield. Go man, go!

So no channel, and, I'm assuming an 8 doesn't beat its CMD. Therefore, I am still stuck.

Init:
Fire1
Embok
Tom
Mari
Silas
Fire2
Charles
Elyza
Black Mass

Combat 4

Scarab Sages

Charles and Elyza have gone, so it is Mr. Blob's turn.

Sorry, I was AFK yesterday, my fiance graduated nursing school!

Charles, Silas, give me a reflex save DC 13 if you want to give up the AoO. If you want to take an AoO, then you can't do the reflex save. The blob is Engulfing you two.

Count Urstig spits Thomas out, "Vile tasting Light of Saranrae!"

It then heaves it's mass forward, attempting to cover Charles and Silas.

Charles will die fighting more likely.

Power Attack 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (13) + 7 = 20
Damage 2d6 + 10 ⇒ (3, 3) + 10 = 16

Charles sword whistles through the air with a wet shlick sound. As the weapon passes through, the pudding does not reconnect itself and instead becomes two separate blobs of revolting.

Reflex: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (12) + 5 = 17

Silas deftly jumps out of the way, but Charles' attack splits the pudding, and Charles is swept inside the bulk of one of the masses.

Constrict+Acid 2d6 + 4 + 2d6 ⇒ (6, 6) + 4 + (5, 6) = 27

Charles, I forgot this part, when you attacked the pudding give me a Reflex save DC 21 or take 2d6 ⇒ (5, 4) = 9 damage to your sword. Give me another reflex save DC 21 to avoid taking 11 damage to clothing and armor from the Constrict acid damage.

Reflex 1 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (10) + 1 = 11
Reflex 2 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9

So, that's a lot of damage to my equipment and myself. Pretty.

Charles hp: 0
Armor hp: 9
Greatsword hp: 10

The flame elemental slams down after it sidles up next to Silas...

Slam 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (16) + 7 = 23
Damage+Burn 1d6 + 1 + 1d6 ⇒ (2) + 1 + (4) = 7

Silas, give me a Reflex save DC 14 or catch fire and take 1d6 ⇒ 5 burn damage for 1d4 ⇒ 1 rounds.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Out of turn free action talking Hey, count. Now that there are two of you, who is the real count? Surely Zon-Kuthon will destroy the imposter. The both of you should fight it out to see who is really worthy of being his disciple.

Nice! I'm just thinking up a good way to resolve that :)

Scarab Sages

Bluff check! The Count's sense motive can't be that high.

Reflex 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (12) + 5 = 17

Whose turn is it?

Embok, Tom, Mari, Silas, Charles, and then Elyza

Yeah give me a Bluff check. I wanna see how this rolls out :)

GM:
1d20 - 4 ⇒ (6) - 4 = 2

Diplomacy 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (5) + 6 = 11
Bluff 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (19) + 1 = 20

The blob masses pause for a moment and ripples appear on the sides facing the other blob.

Embok gets ready to shoot in case a blob or elemental becomes visible through the entrance to the room.

Converts burning hands into cure light wounds 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 2 = 9
Finaly at +1 HP. Takes a 5ft step back towards the door and puts scimitar away.

actions:
Spell=standard, sheathe=move, and 5ft step

So, Mari, Silas, Charles, then Elyza.

Scarab Sages

Have we lost Mari?

Oh my earlier post got eaten! We can call it quits if everyone's lost interest. I think it's fair to say that this combat would be lethal for you all. Personally, I'd be interested to see how this would play out if you all had all your powers.

I don't think we could do enough damage to that pudding. We'd have to keep splitting it till it died.

Scarab Sages

But, but... Thomas pulled off the epic bluff. The two blobs should start fighting each other. If we pull back and let them at it, they should slam each other repeatedly. Then we can clean up the winner.

That bluff was worthy of fame and glory, and a minor trial accomplishment. Oh well.

I'm good either way. I think the idea of the Guardian path on a Monk was not my best move--the monk issue tends to be unhittable AC and unhitting BAB. The Guardian path just exacerbates that. Although I really want to combine Sudden Block with Panther Style at some point.

Well, I'm all for setting up another playtest for everyone if they still would like?

I'll allow any mixture of classes/tiers from Core+APG (so we can have multiple of any types of tiers).

I will also allow a case-by-case Ultimate Magic and Ultimate Combat stuff, but I don't own those and am not overly familiar with their additions to the rules. So I'll trust you guys and gals that the abilities do what they say.

What level would you all like to start if you're interested? I was thinking level 6 tier 3?

Also, thank you everyone for playing and I hope it was enjoyable the first time.

@Elyza - It WAS a good idea and if it wouldn't have been the BBEG it definately would have worked :)

I'm up for anything. I'd still like to do a cleric/Hierophant, but just edit Thomas a little bit.

Feel free to do it up Nawtyit, I'll kick this thread around for a couple of days to see if the whole party is interested. If they aren't I'll start a new thread.

If you end up having a free spot, I would love to play.

Sovereign Court

Me too.

I'm going to start a new thread today. I've only heard from Nawtyit and Hama from this game. Ganny, once I've made the thread post up a char :)

It'll be 20pt buy, Level 6, Tier 3, Core+APG. Traits allowed. Standard WBL with no accounting for Mythic tiers.
