Boon Trading Thread

Same here, I got 3 race boons last year, all during different seasons and they're all sylphs.

the only boons you can use in core are ones that you get from core games...

so you cant use race boons in core..

At no time may any trait, feat, equipment, magic item, skill, animal companion, familiar, or any other character option come from a source beyond these three resources unless it appears on a Chronicle sheet. Race boons found on Chronicle sheets may not be used in the Core Campaign.

so I would guess that Boons such as:

They appear on a Chronicle sheet (the Boon sheets are Chronicles aren't they?) and they are NOT "...Race boons found on Chronicles sheets...".

edit: I would like to swap Race Boons that I have, that aren't useable with Core PCs, for other boons that are usable on Core PCs.

I was just wondering if it was going to bother people - or is it like buying/selling boons for money (i.e. distasteful and shouldn't be done).

in core.. it has to come from a scenario chronicle ( from a core game)to be unlocked..

Jeff is correct. If the boon does not come from playing a scenario, you can choose to apply it to a Core or Normal character. There is no way to actually earn a holiday boon in Core, so the restriction to do so does not apply. The only exception is convention boons that allow non-core races.

Those quotes pretty clearly read that scenario chronicles that can have a copy applied to a different character (there are at least a few out there) can't be applied cross-campaign but non-race convention boons can.

Race boons are the exception. They are not allowed in Core from the convention boons that are available.

Melil, the Extra Trait boon is three or four years old and hasn't been reprinted, to my knowledge. Everyone wants it, nobody has it. :)

Generally speaking, cons are the only way to get boons, though, yeah.

Two things for you:

1 - I don't think you have your profile set up to receive private messages, and

2 - Boons found on chronicle sheets for scenarios cannot be traded, as they were boons "in addition to" the XP, Prestige/Fame, and Gold you received for those scenarios.

So, all I really have is Sky Citadel Scholar, as that was an extra boon I received at a con. (+1 on Know. Checks made for Quest For Sky and either specialization in dungeoneering or Dwarven for free) Anyone still want to trade?

Selling your boon for actual money is frowned uppon, but trading for other paizo products is done.

Offering other things you can do personally also happens. For example, if you're a good miniature painter, you can offer your services in exchange for a boon.
