What if any Society Scenarios/Modules grant access to Dragonhide?

I was certain that scenarios like The year of the shadowlodge special and others that happen to have dragons in them, would allow a character to purchase dragon hide armor or pieces.

Thank you for your help.

Figuring out what the rewards are for a particular scenario ahead of time is generally frowned upon as a form of metagaming. The reliable way to get dragonhide is to simply accrue enough fame to purchase it normally.

Allow me to re-phrase his question. (As this spawned from a question on the HoustonPFS Facebook). Does simply killing an appropriately-colored dragon in a scenario grant access to its hide, or must it be indicated on the chronicle sheet that you have access to said hide?

I am of the opinion that it must be listed on the chronicle sheet to qualify, and would submit the chronicle sheet from

Spoiler:
Rats of Round Mountain part 1
as my evidence.

That said, typically by the time you are able to kill a dragon large enough to make armor from, you will have the fame score necessary to simply purchase said armor with your accumulated gold.

Ah, okay. No, simply killing a dragon does not grant access to its hide. It must be explicitly noted on a chronicle.

The quickest way to get a dragonhide breastplate is to use 2PP to buy it since it falls under the 750gp cap. This can be done as soon as you have 2PP to spend.

For anything more expensive you will need to wait till your Fame is high enough to grant access.

I don't think so. On page 25 of the guide it says that Dragonhide is the one special material NOT on the commonly available list of thing. Wouldn't thT mean you WOULD have to have it on the sheet or have enough fame to buy it?

Why can't you just skin a dragon and take the hide?

I mean, even if it's not a home game, leaving that option out makes no sense.

That is why you need to buy it with prestige or once your fame level reaches the appropiate level. Always availale items are always available regardless of Fame.

Dragon hide items are sometimes listed on a chronicle. Sometimes the ability to construct your own armor using dragon hide (access to the special material) is also on the chronicle.

Brian is correct on this one. When purchasing an item with PP, it does not take into account fame restrictions.

fun fact: Most people's first purchase with PP is a wand of CLW or Infernal Healing, neither of which are in the always available list.

Brian explained it well and is what should be followed.

We are trying to include dragon hide on every Chronicle where dragons appear in future scenarios.

Noooo....your going to put my Barbarian Skinner / Tailor out of business. I had such a glut of dragonhide to sell after those scenarios. Now every bloke with a shortsword is going to be skinning my profits from me. Better sell this last bit of dragonhide before the prices drop out on the market (Damn...you never heard me say that).

Come by my shop and buy the last of my RARE dragonhide, you won't find a better source elsewhere.

Free purchase up to 750gp 2PP

Once per session, you can acquire any single item of
this cost or less from your faction by spending the
appropriate PP. Items purchased this way are worth 0 gp
and cannot be sold.

says nothing about the always available list. as long as you earn your 2pp after your first mission you can buy almost any level 1 wand by spending it.

Thank you all for your assistance, especially Kelly for helping to clarify my question on the boards.
